Ukraine’s U.S. Amb. Okasna Markarova said her country was “preparing for everything” as Moscow celebrates Victory Day, May 9, with Russian President Vladimir Putin commemorating the USSR’s April 20, 1945 defeat over Nazi Germany. USSR lost about 27 million troops and civilians in WW II, far greater than any other combatant in the war that ends all wars. “We know there are no red lines for the regime in Moscow, so we’re preparing for everything,” Markarova said, not thanking the United States fior supplying most of its arms and all of its cash to pay Kiev’s civil salaries. Not one Ukrainian official, including 44-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky, admits that the U.S. pays to keep the lights on in Kiev. Kiev’s 50-year-old Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who led the Feb. 22, 2014 CIA-backed revolution in Kiev, does not admit that the city and state are broke without U.S. financial assistance.

Markarova said there are “no red lines for Moscow,” but Putin didn’t order the bombing of Kiev, where the presidential palace, parliament and other treasured museums and national monuments exist. Markarova insists Russia said they wouldn’t attack Ukraine after massing over 100,000 troops for months near the Ukrainian border. “They said they will not go into—that they were no going to attack us, and they did. They said that there is no war in Ukraine for the past eight years, and we know [there] was. They said they didn’t take the Crimea and they did. They said they’re not killing civilians, and yet we see everywhere the deaths of women, children. They torture them, they rape them they kill them. So we can count that Putin and imperialistic Russia will do everything bad they can possibly try to do,” Markarova said. Markarova has nothing good to say about Russia other than they are all international criminals.

Markarova mentions nothing about the U.S. paying for her salary and those of other Ukrainian civil servants. So much of Ukraine’s pretence during the fight against Russia involves that their military puts up a heroic fight against the Russian Federation. But Zelensky, his Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba or Markarova can’t admit the Ukraine government is broke, relying 100% on U.S. government largess. Without U.S. arms and cash, Ukraine would have been vanquished long ago. All the U.S. and Ukrainian claptrap involves how Russia is losing the war, or, more recently, how the U.S. seeks to weaken the Russian military to the point it can no longer wage war against its neighbors. Kremlin officials got 79-year-old President Joe Biden’s March 26 message in Warsaw, Poland that Putin could no longer stay as Russian president. Russian officials were flabbergasted by Biden’s remarks.

Whatever Putin says at his V-Day ceremony on Red Square, Monday, May 9, it will be dismissed as Kremlin propaganda by the U.S. government. Because Biden and his 68-year-old Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin let the cat out of the bag, the Kremlin believes the U.S. is at war in Ukraine against the Russian Federation. No longer does the Kremlin see Ukraine’s battle for sovereignty and territorial integrity. Kremlin officials now see the ultimate battle between the U.S. and Russian Federation. U.S. press reports that Russian oligarchs no longer support Putin and look at some way to remove him are pure war propaganda with zero truth behind it. Russia’s oligarchs know they serve at the pleasure of Putin, and, without his 100% backing, their fortunes would evaporate overnight. Putin has been called by Biden a “soulless killer,” “mass murderer” and “war criminal,” what more needs to be said?

Biden has made Ukraine’s uphill battle with the Russian Federation much worse by exposing his plan to degrade the Russian military. Putin sees his battle in Ukraine as against the United States, saying May 3 that it was inevitable both superpowers would eventually go to war. No matter how much military equipment the U.S. supplies Ukraine, the battle has taken on for the Kremlin a whole new meaning. Biden didn’t half to tip his hand March 26, telling the world that Putin could no longer remain Russian president. “Are we all prepared, the civilized world, to do everything possible to define our democracy and freedom? And Ukraine certainly is not ready, but shows for the past 74 days that we bravely defend those values and defend out homes,” Markarova said. Like Zelensky, Markarova likes to sell the Ukraine war a battle of democracy against totalitarianism.

U.S. and Ukrainian officials like to point to Russia losses a proof that Putin is losing the Ukraine War. When you look at the Ukraine map, it tells a very different story of where Russia controls large swaths of Ukraine, especially in the Southeatern Donbas region. So when Ukraine talks of the heroic warriors holed up in the Mariuopol Azovstal Steel plant, it’s all for PR value. U.S. and Ukraine officials know that Mariuopol, a once strategic Ukrainian port, is controlled by the Russian military. U.S. and Ukraine can pretend all they want about how they’re handing Putin a resounding defeat, the video from all over Ukraine tells as different story. “We will never recognize it, whole world will never recognize it,” Markarova said, saying that Ukraine would battle until the death to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity. When will Ukraine admit that they no longer control the Donbas region?
