Only days before California’s recall election, 69-year-old syndicated talk show host Larry Elder made a big splash but only with the state’s shrinking conservative following. Elder resonates with conservative voters but that’s about all, with Democrats enjoying a two-to-one registration advantage, making the Sept. 14 election a fait accompli, a done deal. Elder appealed to voters because the nation’s largest state is in ruins, if anyone, including journalists, want to tell the truth. California’s whopping 151,000 homeless, 66,436 in Los Angeles County and 41,000 in the City of Los Angeles makes the state the laughing stock of America. Newsom has no answer for homelessness other than to ignore it, excuse it because of a lack of affordable housing. But with the state reeling from economic woes, record wildfires and a persistent drought, all 53-year-old Gov. Gavin Newsom does is blame it on Climate Change.

Elder’s campaign reminds voters, regardless of party registration, that Newsom has no answer for fixing the many social and environmental problems that plague the state. Telling voters that the homeless problems can be fixed, Elder would work with cities and counties to make camping on public streets illegal, clearing all homeless encampments and placing homeless into shelters and alternative housing. When it comes to the state’s economy, Elder blames Newsom for overly strict Covid restrictions, driving many of the state’s small businesses into bankruptcy while giving a pass to supermarkets, mass merchandisers and big box stores. Elder doesn’t oppose vaccines, masks or social distancing public health measures to deal with the Covid-19 crisis but he doesn’t want arbitrary mandates and restrictions. Democrat politicians have traveled from Washington to oppose Elder’s candidacy.

Democrats call the recall election a “Republican power grab” when the over 1.5 million Californians, from all political parties, put signatures on the petition. When Newsom decided to abandon his mask and dine at the Napa-based French Laundry during the pandemic, voters got fed up with the hypocrisy. Newsom told California residents in Feb. 2020 that some 55% or 25 million state resident would be infected with Covid-19 unless he imposed draonic lock-downs. Today’s Covid-19 numbers aren’t anywhere near Newsom’s projections, attesting to his scare tactics to justify shutting down many small California businesses. Elder commands 38% of the Republican vote, a whopping number when compared to his nearest GOP rivals. Elder doesn’t accept groups like Black Lives Matter rioting, looting, arson and anarchy, that went on for months in the Summer of 2020.

Bringing out the big guns, Elder put the fear of God into the Washington Democrat establishment, parading former President Barack Obama, Vice President Kamala Harris and 78-year-old President Joe Biden to help Newsom get over the finish line. Instead of looking at he utter mess Newsom has created, Democrats won’t let California deal with its own internal problems. Newsom wasn’t faced with a “Republican power grab,” the state is faced with a slow-moving train wreck under Newsom’s liberal leadership. When he feels like pandemic dining at the French Laundry, it’s OK for him, but not for the millions of residents complying with his lock-down restrictions. Elder points out the obvious, that the Golden State is in a downward spiral with Newsom at the helm. So, the recall election is about much more than a “Republican power grab.”

Elder’s voice reminds Californians that something can be done to turn things around but not with Newsom in Sacramento. His entire campaign is only about protecting school children and the teachers’ union from Covid-19, requiring vaccines and masks n public schools. Elder has no problem with vaccines and masks, he has a problem with high taxes on businesses and individuals, intolerable homelessness that assaulted him on the campaign in Venice Beach, the nation’s highest gas prices, inflated rents and real estate values, all because Newsom has created a welfare state providing giveaways for anyone willing to vote for him. But under Newsom, the once mighty California economy, has morphed into a third world state, with homeless, trash in the streets and crime running rampant in the major cities. Newsom would no doubt parole Sirhan Sirhan, Robert F. Kennedy’s assassin, from prison.

All the big guns support Newsom’s failures because he’s part of the “woke crowd” that continues to chip away at American history and values. Newsom’s all about promoting Critical Race Theory in public schools but not about creating jobs for citizens suffering from the indignity of unemployment, discrimination and racism. Newsom’s all about open borders and throwing more cash at Mexico, Central and South America. He’s not about creating a business environment that supports its population with jobs and enough industry to promote prosperity in the state. Elder raises all of these issues and more, all for not, when brainwashed Democrat voters return their universal mail-in ballots, the same ones used in the 2020 election o prevent Trump from a second term. Elder raises expectations, Newsom extinguishes them.
