Conservative radio talk show host Larry Elder, now the Republican front-runner for the Sept. 14 recall election, has now been demonized like former President Donald Trump for racism. Unlike Trump, because Elder’s black, he can’t be accused of white supremacy or, the more current term, of white privilege, but Elder, who came up the ranks very much like former neurosurgeon and Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson. Elder and Carson are highly successful black men, who don’t blame white society for their failings, send messages to the black community that hard work pays off. Unlike Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom, Elder didn’t grow up in San Francisco’s white elite community but grew up in South Central Los Angeles. Elder’s radio moniker is the “Sage from South Central,” attesting to how he grew up keeping is nose out of the many distractions in his neighborhood.
With the Sept. 14 recall less that two weeks away, the liberal media slams Elder daily for not mirroring the fake “woke” mentality that’s swept over the country since the May 25, 2021 death of George Floyd. Elder had nothing good to say a bout Floyd’s killer, former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin who’s spending the next 20 years in prison. Elder’s positions on the black community rubd the “woke” class the wrong way, insisting African Americans should stop their victim mentality, making use of every legal tool at their disposal to advance careers. Elder graduated from Crenshaw High School in 1970, taking advance placement classes at Fairfax High School, known for its highly academic Jewish population. Elder was accepted and graduated from Brown University from which he attended and graduated from University of Michigan Law School. Larry only practiced law briefly before going into AM radio.
Over the years, Elder antagonized the black community for his politically incorrect statements, urging the community to stay married, raise children in intact families and avoid the kinds of gang affiliations that can suck black youth into lives of crime. Elder’s especially critical of high crime black communities, challenging the “woke” media explanations that tend to blame white law enforcement for African American social problems. Recent reports from the media suggest that Elder thinks that the U.S. government should have paid white slave owners reparations after taking away their workforce following the Civil War. Like Trump, the media hopes to paint Elder as a “Uncle Tom” black racist, whose views don’t match those of the African American community, more aligned with former President Trump. Trump was demonized as a racist in the 2020 campaign.
Elder has punchers chance of beating Newsom in California’s recall election. But with a two-to-one registration advantage, the likelihood of Elder replacing Newsom isn’t looking too good. When you consider all the damage Newsom wreaked during the pandemic on California, you’d think a lot more than Republicans would be unhappy with the governor. Newsom’s predictions from Bill Gates-funded Univ. of Washington Center for Health care Statistics and Evaluation were off the wall. Newsom justified shutting down the state claiming that, without the lockdown, California would have 25 million residents infected. Today’s total infections, 18 months after Newsom’s lockdown, were less that 4.5 million Covid-19 cases. Whatever Newsom’s scare tactics and failed predictions, it didn’t stop him for dining Nov. 13, 2020 at the $1,200 a plate French Laundry Napa’s wine country.
Newsom’s hypocrisy insisting on lockdowns for ordinary Californians while he dined maskless at the French Laundry prompted the recall election. But beyond Newsom’s hypocrisy, he had no problems keeping open all mass merchandizers and big box scores while shutting down California’s small businesses, causing the worst economic calamity since the Great Depression. Newsom couldn’t wait until Trump was out of office to get the billions in bailout cash from the federal government, making the state treasury whole again. No one in the press wants to talk about the widespread homeless population in California growing under Newsom’s watch, only about how Larry Elder thinks former slave owners deserved reparations. Elder has Newsom on all key issues but the press does exactly the same thing with Elder as Trump, demonizing him for being a black racist.
Democrats and the media have once again demonized the GOP candidate, this time Larry Elder. Elder wants to hold Newsom accountable for all the horrific problems in the state largely caused by Democrat-run policies, including doing next-to-nothing to deal with the homeless crisis. Like Democrats and the media pushed for President Joe Biden, they now have a president with cognitive impairments that leave him unable to serve as commander-in-chief without engendering U.S. troops and national security. When voters decide whether to retain Newsom, they should look carefully at the true state of California, where some of the states biggest businesses, like Elon Musk’s SpaceX and Tesla Motors, have moved out of the state. Calling Elder a racist repeats the same mud slinging in the 2020 campaign but does nothing to start to fix California’s horrific social and economic problems.
