New York’s 63-year-old Gov. Andrew Cuomo continues to deny that he sexually harassed subordinate New York State employees and others, as Atty. Gen. Letitia James determined the complaints of 11 women credible on charges of sexual harassment. Gov. Cuomo “sexually harassed current and former state employees in violation of both federal and states. The independent investigation found that Gov. Cuomo harassed multiple women, many of whom were young women, by engaging in unwanted groping, kisses, hugging and making inappropriate comments,” James said. Cuomo reacted quickly as he’s done in the past denying all charges in a forceful way, essentially saying that everyone’s lying except him. If Cuomo’s case involved one-or-two women it would be egregious enough, because he’d still have some plausible deniability. Cuomo has no plausible deniability left and must resign.

Cuomo’s forceful denials are only about future legal actions not about whether he’ll be forced out of office. “The facts are much different that what has been portrayed,” Cuomo said today in a video message. Cuomo paints himself as a champion of women’s rights, saying there were cultural and generational differences that excuse his behavior that runs afoul with current state and federal laws governing the workplace. Days have long gone for Cuomo to repeat his feeble explanations for what “really” happened, after an independent, objective investigation concluded that he’s guilty as charged with sexual harassment in the workplace. New York state legislators and members of Congress must put maximum pressure on Cuomo to step down for the good of the state. He can no longer conduct his job without the kind of distraction that interferes with his daily routine as New York governor.

Cuomo’s forceful denials show that he’s a hardened psychopath who’s only priority is saving his own backside. Dismissing James’ independent investigation shows that Cuomo thinks he’s above-the-law, arrogantly proclaiming his innocence when the state has given him the benefit of the doubt for the last six months while the investigation took place. You’d think that an independent investigation would sink in for Cuomo. But, no, it’s the exact opposite, he’s more on the defense than ever. Cuomo’s probably, at this point, so self-deluded he can’t fathom that he did anything wrong, attributing it to a right wing witch-hunt. But Cuomo must face the music the verdict of the state’s independent investigation. “The people of New York deserve better leadership in the governor’s office. We continue to believe the Governor should resign,” said State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Steward-Cousins.

Cuomo’s defiance in the face of overwhelming evidence that he’s not fit for office mirrors the same narcissistic personality that tells him he did nothing wrong, actually thinking he’s entitled to touch, feel, grope, say whatever he wants, whenever and to whomever he wants because he’s the governor. If Cuomo doesn’t get the message the New York legislature, both Democrats and Republicans, would likely start impeachment proceedings. “It should be clear to everyone that he can no longer serve as Governor,” said Democrat State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins. Cuomo has no support left in New York Democrat circles with New York Major Bill de Blasio, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y), and Rep. Alesandria Ocsio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) all calling for Cuomo’s resignation. Only his CNN host brother Chris Cuomo won’t call for the governor to step down.

Cuomo thinks he has credibility to criticize lawmakers that want him to do the right thing and resign. “Politicians who don’t know a single fact but yet form a conclusion and the an opinion are, in my opinion, reckless and dangerous, “ Cuomo said. “The people of New York should not have confidence in a politician who takes a position without knowing any facts or substance. That, my friends, is a politics at its worst,” Cuomo said, showing that he’s willing to say or do anything to cling to power. In Andrew’s mind, he’s the only one that knows the facts, not an 85-page investigative report that documents all of his sexual harassment claims. Cuomo thinks that denying that he knew what he was doing, excuses his conduct, “I never knew at the time that I was making anyone feel uncomfortable, and I certainly never, ever meant to offend anyone or cause anyone any pain,” Cumo said in March.

Cuomo admitted publicly that his own abysmal neediness for affection and human contact blinds him to what’s appropriate. Andrew claims he didn’t “mean to offend anyone or cause anyone pain,” yet that’s exactly what he did, showing such obliviousness that he’s a danger to the state. As long as former President Donald Trump was in office, there was always a fresh excuse of Cuomo or for fellow Democrats to protect him from his own self-destructive impulses. “That is the last thing I would ever want to do,” Cumo said, regarding hurting or offending anyone. Yet by inappropriately touching and talking trash to subordinate employees, Cuomo makes his needs paramount, unable to control his impulses for affection. Divorced and living alone, Cuomo’s a sad sack, who’s abysmal neediness got him into trouble. Cuomo should spend his time in therapy trying to figure out why he destroyed his career.
