Whatever’s left of the Trump-hating Lincoln Project founded in 2019 by never-Trumpers George Conway, Steve Schmidt and John Weaver, they accomplished their mission of preventing Trump from a second term. Well they’d like to think so but the reality of why Trump lost the Nov. 8, 2020 election tells a different story. Without any doubt, the Covid-19 crisis did Trump in, creating a foul mood in the country, especially the worst recession since the Great Depression. Conway’s married, at least on paper, to Former President Donald Trump’s senior adviser Kellyanne Conway, a glaring red flag that somehow Trump missed. Once it was clear that Kellyanne’s husband George was ripping Trump at every opportunity in the left wing media, Trump should have given her walking papers. Well, whatever happened with the Lincoln Project, Trump’s tenure was cut short by a convergence of factors.
When George Floyd was brutally murdered May 25, 2020 on national TV by former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin, it sparked nationwide riots, looting, arson and anarchy for over three months. Crippled by the deadly novel coronavirus now hit with race riots, the scenario couldn’t have been worse for Trump’s re-election. Add to that universal mail-in ballots, Trump was toast. Trump’s been complaining ever since about a rigged election, prompting what the Lincoln Project and Democrats see as the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Hearings now held by the House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 Capitol “insurrection” are another dog-and-pony show. Not one Democrat or anyone in the press wants the truth, only to try Trump again in what amounts to a third impeachment trial. Democrats who lost the Feb. 13 Senate impeachment trial, are putting Trump through double jeopardy in public court.
Former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele, 62. has become a favorite of the Trump-hating media. He’s been hammering Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) for failing to recall what time of the day Jan. 6 he spoke with 75-year-old former President Donald Trump. When Trump was impeached Jan. 13, 2020 for “incitement of insurrection,” Democrats contended Trump incited the Jan. 6 riots that upended Congress on the day to certify the Electoral College victory for 78-year-old President Joe Biden. Democrats claimed that Trump Jan. 6 speech on the Ellipse in D.C. incited the Capitol riot. But the FBI already confirmed that the planning by right wing groups happened for months. “You know what time you called the president and you know what you said,” said an angry Steele on Lincoln Project TV. Whatever Trump said the Jordan Jan. 6 is irrelevant to what happened.
Democrats want to establish in their Select Committee hearings that Trump could have thrown as switch and stopped the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. “You’re a grown-ass man,” Steele said. “Stop acting like a 10-year-old kid who got caught masturbating by his momma. Stop it,” Steele said, showing, for all to see, that he’s lost it, not playing with a full deck. Conversations between Jordan and Trump on Jan. 6 have no bearing on the fact that Democrats impeachment article, “incitement of insurrection,” was false on at least two grounds. One, because the violence was planned for months and two, because protesters didn’t commit an “insurrection.” Democrats and the press don’t accept that the Jan. 6 riot as a right wing reaction to the months of rioting, looting, arson and anarchy by Black Lives Matter, Antifa and other left wing groups. Capitol Hill Democrats never denounced the violence in the wake of George Floyd’s death.
Democrats and the media turned the Jan. 6 riot into a fake narrative that so-called Trump-backers tried to overthrow the U.S. government. When Democrats lost their impeachment trial against Trump Feb. 13, they figured they’d get another cracj at besmirching Trump one more time. Steele likes to rip Trump like other anti-Trump Republicans, like Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Ut.) but they don’t like add to the truth of what happened. There was no insurrection, only angry white protesters fed up with Congress for letting left-wing anarchist groups rampage for months last summer. But Democrats and the media have one obsession to prevent Trump from ever running again for president. At his impeachment trial, lead impeachment manager Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) pleaded with Senate Republicans to convict Trump for the purpose of preventing him from running again for president.
Pelosi’s’ Select Committee us a cynical PR stunt to put Trump in double jeopardy, trying him in the court of public opinion when they failed in the U.S. Senate Feb. 13, 2020. Democrats phony impeachment article, “incitement of insurrection,” failed the Senate because it was preposterous. Does anyone, other than the most extreme partisans, think that insurrections come armed with cell phones, not automatic rifles and other weapons? Democrats and the press refuse to accept that the Jan. 6 riot was backlash from the moths of rioting, looting, anarchy and arson, all tolerated by Democrats in Congress in the wake of George Floyd’s death. Democrats’ Select Committee is not about finding out what really happened Jan. 6, it’s about trying Trump one more time in the court of public opinion, hoping it damages him enough to prevent him from running for president in 2024.
