House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), 80, continues to politicize her Jan. 6 House Select Committee, serving as a second impeachment trial for 75-year-old former President Donald Trump. Cherry-picking the most vehemently anti-Trump members, including two anti-Trump Republicans, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.) and Rep. Adam Kinsinger (R-Ill.), Pelosi hopes to get the conviction in public opinion she couldn’t get in the U.S. Senate when Trump was acquitted of “incitement of insurrection” Feb. 13, 2020. Pelosi’s House Select Committee excluded two prominent House Republicans, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) because they think Trump didn’t orchestrated the Jan. 6 Capitol mayhem that defaced the Congress and disgraced the nation. Trump was acquitted in the U.S. Senate Feb. 13, 2020 because nine House impeachment managers couldn’t prove their case.

Pelosi’s House Select Committee essentially places Trump in double-jeopardy, something expressly forbidden by the U.S. Constitution. Pelosi wants to show that Trump was involved in orchestrating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and mob scene that left the Congress in shambles. But Democrats have another not-so-hidden agenda with their House Select Committee, to prevent Trump from running in 2024. House managers led by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) asked the Senate to convict Trump not on the merits of their case but to prevent him in the future from running for elective office. Pelosi’s House Select Committee isn’t about finding the truth, it’s about blaming Trump for orchestrating the Jan. 6 mayhem. FBI officials have reluctantly admitted that the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and mob scene were planned for months, with various rabble-rousing groups attending Trump’s Jan. 6 speech a D.C.’s Ellipse.

From the start of the Senate trial Feb. 9, 2020, Democrat House managers argued that Trump; incited the riot from his speech at the Ellipse. Yet the more the FBI looked into it, more it was obvious that the mayhem was planned by right wing anarchists for months. Raskin never proved his main argument that Trump, and Trump alone, was responsible for the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Democrat impeachment managers all complained that one Trump refuted the results of the Nov. 8, 2020 presidential election, he encouraged ordinary citizens to revolt. Yet Trump was heard at the Ellipse telling his audience to demonstrate peacefully. Not one Democrat or press cared what Trump actually said Jan. 6, they only want to pin the Jan. 6 riot on him. So when it comes to the House Select Committee, it’s redux, deja vue all over against, pinning the Jan. 6 riot 100% on Trump.

No one in the press or the Democrat Party will accept the truth after months of left-wing riots, looting, arson and anarchy last summer in the wake of George Floyd’s death, certain right wing groups wanted to make a point that blacks aren’t the only ones capable of riots. No Democrat or member of the press will admit that the Jan. 6 riot was a backlash from months of left -wing rioting last summer. Democrats only want to charge Trump again with “incitement of insurrection,” the highly dubious impeachment article concocted by Democrats. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) spoke out after Pelosi approved Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.), one of Republicans most vociferous anti-Trump Republicans. Pelosi, who lost her leadership job May 12 as GOP Conference Chair, now looks for any way to lash out at the House GOP leadership, especially McCarthy.

Cheney, like Pelosi, would like nothing more than to get back at Trump. Cheney disgraced herself and fellow Republicans turning against the president, joining the Lincoln Project’s never-Trump campaign to prevent the president from a second term. At the end of the day, Cheney had little to do with Trump’s defeat on Election Day. While Democrats insist the Nov. 8 Democrat victory was the most fraud-free election in U.S. history, there truth is that universal mail-in ballots were never tried before. Democrats and the press don’t like to talk about universal mail-in ballots tilting the election toward President Joe Biden. Trump was left with a whole lot of “what ifs” but it’s clear that Democrats had a decisive registration advantage over Republicans, giving Democrats an unfair advantage. Any attempt to prevent the same mistake again is called “voter suppression” by Democrats.

Pelosi’s Kangaroo House Select Committee is designed to give Democrats a second shot at the Feb. 9, 2020 impeachment trial that ended in failure Feb. 13, 2020 with Trump acquitted for “incitement of insurrection.” Cheney would convict Trump in a heartbeat because she despises him. But Pelosi’s sham House Select Committee puts Trump in double-jeopardy, trying to do what the House managers failed to do in the impeachment trial. Pelosi and House Democrats wanted to call the Jan. 6 Capitol riot an “unsurection,” because it sounds like an impeachable offense. House Select Committee should look at the failures of the Capitol and D.C. police, certainly the FBI for not affording adequate security on Jan. 6. Going over old ground proves that Pelosi’s committee only wants to smear Trump one more time, assuring that he never runs for president in 2024.
