Washington Post writers Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker’s new Trump-tell-all book, “Only I can fix it,” reveals much to the disappointment of the Trump-hating media that Trump never instructed 71-year-old former Atty. Gen. Bill Barr to charge anyone, including 60-year-old former FBI James Comey, in the FBI’s illegal counterintelligence probe. Leonnig and Rucker’s tell-all, like others before it, largely slams Trump for everything, from flirting with dictators to masterminding the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Durham was often degraded in the Trump-hating media as being Trump’s personal attorney, not doing his job as Attorney General but as another Rudy Giuliani. Barr served the Department of Justice with the highest level of integrity despite the media’s wild allegations. Trump’s enemies in the press didn’t like hearing Leonnig and Rucker say anything positive.

Barr was so appalled by what he learned by the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation against Trump and his 2016 presidential campaign, he appointed U.S. Atty. John Durham (R-Conn.) as Special Counsel, hoping to get to the bottom of how the whole thing started. Unlike other Democrat officials or their friends in the media, they saw nothing wrong with Comey using former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s bogus “Steele dossier” to charge Trump with colluding with Kremlin to win the 2016 presidential election. Hillary could never admit she lost the election because of her track record of scandals soured the public on seeing the second coming of the Clintons. Hillary readily gave her Steele dossier to 65-year-old former CIA Director John Brennan, the late Sen. John McCain (R-Az.) and 60-year-old former FBI Director James Comey, fired by Trump May 9, 2017.

Trump’s Democrat and media haters tried everything to prevent him from becoming president. When that didn’t work, they worked feverishly for four years to get him impeached or removed from office under the 25th amendment. Democrats and the media did everything by hook-or-by-crook to get rid of Trump. All Democrats and media efforts to get rid of Trump failed until 78-year-old President Joe Biden beat him in a controversial election Nov. 8, 2020. But before Democrats beat Trump at the ballot box with universal mail-in ballots, they tried to get rid of him with an FBI counterintelligence investigation. Barr and Durham tried to get the facts on what happened with Comey’s counterintelligence investigation. Comey used Hillary’s Steele dossier to dupe the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act [FISA] Court to obtain warrants to wiretap Trump campaign officials.

Barr wanted Durham to find out who ordered Comey to conduct a counterintelligence investigation on a major party nominee for the purpose of giving Hillary a leg up in the 2016 presidential election, Barr and Durham couldn’t figure out how far up the chain-of-command the order went to investigate Trump. Comey has denied that it was anything more that a referral from Brennan and McCain, both of gave Hillary’s dossier to Comey. At a Jan. 5, 2017 meeting with former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBi Director James Comey, former Deputy Atty. Gen, Sally Yates, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, former Atty. Gen. Loretta Lynch and others, the discussed setting up former Trump National Security Adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn for allegedly talking to former Russian Amb. Sergey Kislyak during the transition.

Whatever happened at the Jan. 5 Oval Office meeting, it was clear that President Obama and all his key Cabinet officials knew about the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation and decision to set Flynn up at the White House once Trump took office Democrats and the media like to point out that only one person, DOJ Atty. Kevin Clinesmith was charged with altering an email to the FISA Court, leaving out that Page was a CIA asset. But not one Democrat or anyone in the media wanted to see Comey’s counterintelligence investigation questioned because of embarrassing the Obama administration for a criminal a conspiracy. Durham is expected to report on his findings soon but, so far, no one’s slated for indictments. Criminal conspiracy to sabotage Trump’s 2016 was uncovered at the FBI.

Trump hoped that Durham’s report on the criminal conspiracy inside the Obama administration and the FBI would reveal the origin of Comey’s counterintelligence investigation. When Trump said early on in his 2016 campaign that President Barack Obama “tapped his wires,” the media went crazy demanding proof. Yet once they had proof of conspiracy at the FBI or inside the Obama White House, the press turned a blind eye, hoping to preserve Obama’s legacy. Durham called Barr before the 2020 election, “there would be no report he would feel comfortable releasing before the election,” Durham wrote. “If that’s the case. I’m very disappointed. I think it’s a terrible thing, and I’ll say it to his face,” Trump said before the Nov. 8 election. “That’s a disgrace. I think it’s a disgrace. It’s an embarrassment,” Trump said, knowing the public would be kept in the dark.
