Anticipating widespread street demonstrations from 44-year-old Russian dissident Alex Navalny’s nationwide network, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a crackdown on regional offices. Western officials, especially in the U.S have quite a double standard going, condemning the crackdown in Russia but praising the crackdown in America of right wing extremists groups responsible for the Jan. 6 riot and mob scene. Former President Donald Trump was impeached by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for “incitement of insurrection.” Nine House impeachment managers pleaded with the U.S. Senate to convict Trump when they knew his Jan. 6 speech had nothing to do with Proud Boys months of planning to storm the Capitol. Yet, when it comes to Navalny with the U.S. and European Union, Navalny’s clandestine nationwide network to topple Putin’s government is OK.

President Joe Biden, 78, and his 58-year-old Secretary of State Tony Blinken, have launched hypocrisy into the stratosphere, condemning the crackdown on Navalny’s network but hitting Proud Boys with everything but the kitchen sink. There’s no limits to how the Justice Department—and FBI—should persecute Proud Boys or Boogaloo, all because left wing groups like Black Lives Matter or Antifa get a pass. FBI officials knew over two months before the Jan. 6 Capitol riot that Proud Boys and Boogaloo were going to make a statement. FBI and Capitol Police did nothing to secure the perimeter around the Captiol Jan. 6. When Biden held his inauguration Jan. 20, the FBI and Capitol Police did their jobs securing the Capitol, just not on Jan. 6. But there’s no upper limit to hypocrisy with today’s media. Yesterday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) accused Putin of trying to murder Navalny.

Raiding Navalny’s offices in advance of street demonstrations only makes sense to Russian authorities, much like the FBI raided Proud Boys or Boogaloo locations. Western governments don’t like to admit that Navalny runs an insurgency against the Kremlin and Putin government. Navalny, whose rotting in a Russian penal colony since March 2, has gone on a hunger strike since March 31, causing grave concerns about his medical condition. Navalyn’s lawyer Vadim Kobsev has warned about Navalny’s imminent death unless he gets his own medical team into the prison to treat the patient. Western media knows that Navalny’s sudden deterioration has to do with his self-imposed starvation, not prison officials. If Navalny’s near death, it’s not due to the prison, it’s due to his three-week long hunger strike. Navalny’s PR team has done a good job of blaming prison officials.

When it comes to Navalny’s group threatening nationwide street protests, what are Russian authorities supposed to do, ignore it? Since the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, the Justice Department and FBI have been relentless in prosecuting Capitol Hill trespassers using video of the incident. Many of the rabble-rousers that breached the capitol and vandalized government property have been arrested, prosecuted and face long prison sentences. But, if it had to do with Navalny, Biden and Blinken would like to see all of Navalny’s followers left free to protest and demand and end to the Putin government. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) threw the book at Trump, hoping but failing to convict him for “incitement of insurrection.” Trump, who delivered a speech Jan. 6, was treated no differently than the Capitol Hill trespassers who breached the Capitol doors and vandalized the chamber.

Western government don’t care that Navalny is a known revolutionary who seeks nothing short of toppling Putin’s government. While he calls himself an anti-corruption activist, it’s clear that Navalny wants much more than accountability. He wants to charge Putin with larceny, remove him from office and sentence him to prison. Whatever support Western nations give Navalny, it’s a deliberate effort to get rid of Putin. Going after Navalny’s organization is Putin’s way to intercepting more nationwide street demonstrations before they occur. When you consider how Pelosi persecuted Trump, no known elected official would tolerate a evolutionary from carrying out a plot to overthrow the U.S. government. Democrats in Congress led by Pelosi accused Trump of trying to overthrow the U.S. government. Now it turns out that the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was planned for months.

Navanly’s time in prison has been spent with his organization directing a fierce PR campaign to discredit Putin and the Kremlin, something Western government bought hook, line and sinker. When Amnesty International stripped Navalny Feb. 24 of his “prisoner of conscience” status they did so because of his past dehumanizing statements toward Muslim Chechens. Navalny called them cockroaches that must be exterminated, hardly the fake human rights image honed today by today’s media. Now that he’s been in a Russian penal colony, Navalny’s PR team spends much of its time applying pressure on the Kremlin and Western government to release Navalny from jail. No one on Navalny’s PR team admits that his deteriorated health stems from his self-imposed hunger strike, not from anything done to him in prison. Yet the Western press blames Putin and the Kremlin.
