Caught red handed in another fake news story about 74-year-old President Donald Trump briefed on Russia paying the Taliban to kill U.S. troops in Afghanistan, the New York Times is in full damage control mode. Proving that the Times’ story was indeed fake, the paper quotes 71-year-old former National Security Adviser John Bolton whose defamatory book about Trump is candy to the Times. Citing anything Bolton says is proof that the Times has zero credibility, yet seeks desperately to salvage what left of it politically biased reputation. Times now says more unnamed officials claim that thousands of U.S. dollars were found at a Taliban outpost, to the Times, proving, that Russia was indeed involved in paying off the Taliban to attack U.S. troops in the Afghanistan. When you look at the history, it’s not inconceivable that Russia holds a grudge against the U.S. in Afghanistan.
Before the Soviet Union collapsed Dec. 25, 1991, the infamous Berlin Wall fell Nov. 9, 1989, the Soviet Union fought a bitter nine-year war in Afghanistan trying to prop up the Soviet-backed government of Nur Mohammed Taraki, only to watch it fall Feb. 15, 1989. Fighting a proxy war for nearly 10 years against the Kremlin, the U.S. paid former al-Qaeda-founding terrorist Osama bin Laden to lead a mujahedeen insurgency that eventually led to the Afghan-Soviet collapse. CIA paid millions to Bin Laden, helping construct cave-complexes in the Kandahar Mountains where Bin Laden directed his proxy war against the Soviet-backed government. For Russia to want to return the favor to the U.S. some 30 years later, should come as no surprise to anyone. Yet the New York Times anonymously-sourced story plays right into Democrats hand, promptly bludgeoning Trump in the media.
Democrats and the Times today concede that no briefing, per the Times original story, may not have taken place but now spin it into another attack on Trump. House Speaker 80-year-old Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and 77-year-old Joe Biden blasted Trump for not doing anything to punish the Kremlin for its mercenary activity against U.S. troops. “Intel just reported to me that they did not find this info credible and therefore did not report tit to me or @VP,” Trump tweeted, basically saying nothing was briefed to him on the subject because it wasn’t credible. Yet the New York Times and Democrats went for the jugular. Pelosi said June 27 that this was more disturbing than anything the president was impeached for. Biden jumped on the bandwagon, immediately slamming Trump for a lack of leadership. Neither Pelosi nor Biden care whether they had any real facts to report.
Leaping to conclusions with the New York Times, Democrats look to score any points possible against Trump on the eve of Atty. Gen. Bill Barr and U.S. Atty. John Durham preparing indictments of former Obama administration intelligence officials who engaged in the counterintelligence investigation into Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. No print publication generated more fake news stories about Trump’s alleged ties to Russia than the New York Times. Looking to salvage any credibility, The Times, Pelosi and Biden shift their story now to why would Intel officials be so worried to brief Trump. New York Times questioned why Trump would doubt anything said Russia’s alleged mercenary attempts to harm American troops. No one at the New York Times questioned anonymously sourced reporting that Trump had colluded with the Kremlin to win the 2016 presidential election.
When you add up what’s really happening with the Time’s latest fake news story, it’s another attempt to push the Russian hoax narrative. No one at the Times or Democrat Party questions the sources of information. Always unnamed, high-up, insider government officials report the story but never any real names. “Nobody’s been tougher on Russia than the Trump administration,” Trump tweeted. “With Corrupt Joe Biden & Obama, Russia had a field day, taking over important parts of the Ukraine—Where’s Hunter,” Trump tweeted, giving the Times back its own medicine. One unnamed official talked about American cash found at a Taliban site getting “everybody’s attention,” from that leaping to the conclusion that the Russians must be paying the Taliban to kill American troops. No one asked when the money was recovered in Afghanistan or at which Taliban outpost.
New York Times and Democrats continue to hammer the story that Trump’s still engaged in Russian collusion. Using former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton opposition research AKA “The Steele Dossier,” the Times and the Democrats continue to push the same nonsense. “This is as bad as it gets, and yet the president will not confront the Russians on this score, denies being briefed,” Pelosi said June 27. “Whether he is or not, he is administration knows, and some of our allies who work with us in Afghanistan, have been briefed and accept this report,” Pelosi said. “What would motivate the president to do that, because it looks bad if the Russians are paying to kill Americans and we’re not doing anything about it,” Bolton told the times. Instead of naming its sources, the New York Times turns to its new source the ever-credible John Bolton now that he’s turned on his former boss.
