Attacked continuously by Democrats and their friends in the press as a Trump lackey, 70-year-old Atty. Gen. William Barr and 70-year-old U.S. Atty. John Durham diligently plug along in their painstaking work into the origin of the FBI’s counterintelligence into Trump and his 2016 campaign. Nether Democrats nor the press want to acknowledge the baseless, unfounded an corrupt pursuit of Russian collusion against Trump and his campaign all predicated on former Secretary of State Hillary’s Rodham Clinton’s paid opposition research AKA the “Steele Dossier.” Democrats and the press pursued the baseless allegations for over three years until 75-year-old Special Counsel Robert Mueller delivered his Final Report March 23, 2019 based on 22-month, $40 million and 17 career prosecutors looking into Democrats and the media’s charges of Russian collusion by Trump and 2016 presidential campaign.
Mueller concluded March 23, 2020 that neither Trump nor anyone in his 2016 presidential campaign conspired with the Russian government to win the 2016 presidential election. Yet Mueller’s findings, definitive as they were, didn’t deter House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) form saying Mach 26, 2019 that he had proof of Trump’s Russian ties. Schiff, of course, never provided proof of anything. Looking at recent declassified bombshell report of former President Barack Obama’s involvement in 61-year-old Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s investigation, 73-year-president Donald Trump called it ”Obamagate,” prompting denunciations by Democrats and the press. When Trump said March 4, 2017, six weeks after sworn in Jan. 20, 2017, that Obama “tapped his wires,” Democrats and the press went wild, demanding Trump show proof of his spying allegations.
Yet Democrats and the press offered no proof that Trump colluded or conspired with Russia to win the 2016 election. Story-after-story appeared in the New York Times and Washington Post citing anonymous sources insisting that Trump and his campaign conspired with Russia. Hillary made the case to no avail in the 2016 campaign that “Trump was a Putin puppet,” essentially the Kremlin’s candidate, something Democrats and the press pursued until Mueller delivered his Final Report. Former FBI Director James Comey wasn’t deterred by logic and common sense, using Hillary dossier to open an illegal counterintelligence investigation into Trump and his 2016 campaign as early as July 2016. Comey, and his upper management team led by former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, sought warrants from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act [FISA] Court to wiretap Trump campaign officials.
When Trump refers to “Obamagate,” he talking about Obama’s knowledge and approval of the FBI’s counterintelligence probe into Trump’s 2016 campaign. Barr stated today that he did not see Obama or former VP Joe Biden as part of any criminal probe into the origins of the FBI counterintelligence investigation of Trump and his 2016 campaign. Barr rejects “increasing attempts to use the criminal justice system as a political weapon,” that’s precisely what Democrats and press accuse Barr of doing. Yet Barr stated openly and consistently that he thought the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into Trump and his 2016 campaign as not properly “predicated,” based on Hillary’s dossier, a compendium of outright lies and Russian disinformation about Trump’s ties to Russia. Hillary did everything possible in 2016 to stop Trump from becoming president, including accusing him of being a Russian agent.
Barr has been fighting Democrats and U.S. media branding his recent inquiry into Obama’s Justice Department and FBI as a political witch-hunt. “The legal tact has been to gin up allegations of criminality by one’s political opponents based on the flimsiest of legal theories,” Barr said, referring to former FBI Director James Comey using Hillary’s utter rubbish AKA the “Steele Dossier,” to dupe the FISA court into issuing warrants to wiretap Trump campaign officials. When it comes to Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice admitted Sept. 18, 2017 to “unmasking” his innocuous conversations with 69-year-old former Russian Amb. Sergey Kislyak. Flynn did nothing improper or controversial in his wiretapped calls with Kislyak, yet Comey sent Agents Peter Strzok and Joe Pientko to interview Flynn only four days after Trump was sworn in as president.
Barr’s working 27/7 with Durham to understand the inner workings of Comey’s 2016 counterintelligence investigation into Trump and his campaign. Barr and Durham recently reviewed declassified documents from a Jan. 5, 2017 meeting with Obama, Biden, Comey, CIA Director John Brennan, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, U.S. Amb. Susan Powers, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, Deputy Atty. Gen., Sally Yates and former Atty. Gen. Loretta Lynch, all met to discus investigating Flynn. “This is not good for political life and it’s not good for the criminal justice system. And as long as I’m attorney general, the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political ends,” Barr said. Like recent rape allegations against Biden, Democrats and the media are only interested in pursuing charges against Republicans, a sad statement about today’s journalism.
