Faced with a collapsed economy, devalued currency and stubborn coronvirues AKA SARS CoV-2 or Covid-19 epidemic, Iran’s 81-year-old Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khemenei can only focus on his enemies, the U.S. and Israel. There’s little good to talk about in Iran, other than a youthful population so disgusted, so fed up, so disheartened by Khamenei’s brutal Mullah rule, that the octogenarian leader clings to power at the expense of Iran’s future. Khamenei’s Azeri [Turkish ancestry] tribe dominates Iranian politics since Ayatollhah Khomenei’s 1979 Islamic Revolution. Since driving Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlaiv from Iran, Khomenei’s dictatorship has robbed the Iranian people of any hope for progress. Under the Shah, Iran became a modern Islamic state with Western values of education, pluralism and capitalism, giving ordinary Iranians hope for a better life.

Since the principles of Khomenei’s Islamic Revelution were perverted quickly, Iranian society deteriorated into a brutal dictatorship, with the Ayatollah commissioning the Basij military to brutalize the population to undo much the progress seen by the Shah’s family for nearly 100 years. Now Ayatollah confines the state’s progress to fomenting revolution around North Africa and the Middle East. Instead of working to improve the lives of ordinary Iranians, the Ayatollah focuses on uranium enrichment and supplying arms to various rebels groups against the Saudi monarchy and Israeli government. Saying Washington’s allies “abhor” the U.S. under 73-year-old President Donald Trump, Khamenei guaranteed that the U.S. would be expelled from Iraq and Syria. America “will not be staying either in Iraq or Syria and must withdraw and will certainly be expelled,” Khamenei promised.

Slamming the U.S. has become a favorite pastime for the Ayatollah, creating artificial enemies against the Islamic Republic, including Saudi Arabia and Israel. Iran routinely supplies arms-and-cash to Israel’s enemies, including Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Khamenei has been on the warpath since Trump cancelled former President Barack Obama’s 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action [JCPOA] AKA “the Iranian Nuke Deal” May 8, 2018. Trump bolted Obama’s extravagant agreement because Iran opened a proxy war supplying arms-and-cash to Yemen’s Houthi rebels to attack Saudi Arabia, not to mention supplying rockets to Hamas and Hezbollah terror groups. Iran limpet-mined oil tankers in the Perdian Gulf June 14, 2019, then attacked Sept. 14, 2019 Saudi’s Abqaiq –Khurais Oil refinery disrupting 20% of the world’s refined products.

Whatever Khamenei does, he keeps Iran in a perpetual state of war to divert attention away from the Mullah’s waste, fraud and mismanagement of the Iranian economy. “Even the leaders of some of America’s allies . . . abhor American statesman and government, do not trust them and are indifferent towards them,” Khemenei said on video to University students. Khamenei looks for any opportunity to attack the U.S. in the world press. He knows, like other despots Chinese President Xi Jinping or North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un to keep bashing America. What Khamenei denies is that ordinary Iranians emulate American fashion, music, art and pop culture, much to Khoamenei’s disgust. Iranians know that Americans enjoy uncensored access to the Intenet, the outside world beyond Iran’s closed borders and the hope and joy of living in a free society.

Khamenei calls America “warmongers, helping notorious governments, training terrorists, unconditional support for the Zionist regime’s increasing oppression and their recent awful management of the coronavirus” pandemic, Khaemenei said. When he talks of U.S. “warmongers,” Khamenei’s really talking about himself, backing Yemen’s Houthi rebels to attack Saudi Arabia and terror groups that promise to destroy Israel. Talking about the “Zionist regime,” Khamenei doesn’t like U.S. or British-style democracy in the Middle East. Khamenei’s politics are about intimidation and fear foisted on Iran’s teenagers and young adults, routinely sicking the Basij militia to humiliate, beat and incarcerate young women for listening to Western music or, God forbid, putting on makeup. Khamenei likes to call the U.S. “warmongers,” because that’s what Iran does in the Middle East.

Khamenei had no answer when Trump gave the green light April 22 to American warships to “blow out of the water” Iranian swift-boats, routinely harassing U.S. vessels in the Persian Gulf. When Iran seized two U.S. patrol boats in the Strait of Humuz Jan. 12, 2016, humiliating U.S. sailors, Obama did nothing, letting former Secretary of State John Kerry prostrate himself before Iran’s 60-year-old Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. Trump vowed never again would Iran humiliate U.S. sailors, putting the Ayatollah on notice to back off aggressive actions toward the U.S. Trump put Khamenei on notice when he vaporized 62-year-old Al Quds Leader Qaassem Solemani Jan. 3 in a predator drone strike at Baghdad’s International Airport. Khamenei confines himself to worthless rhetoric against the U.S. and Israel, knowing that if he makes one wrong move, Trump would retaliate Khamenei’s Mullah regime.
