Submitting his 35-member witness list to U.S. District Court Judge T.S. Ellis III,73-year-old former FBI Director now Special Counsel Robert Mueller showed why the Special Counsel should not have been appointed. After a year-and-a-quarter with a team of 13 hardened Democrat prosecutors, Mueller picks on 69-year-old Republican operative Paul Manafort. Looking for anyone to rat out 72-year-old President Donald Trump, Mueller thinks he’s got a big fish on the line threatening to put Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen away for many years. Whether liberal press reports about Cohen ratting out Trump are true is anyone’s guess. Wild speculation suggests that Mueller’s cracked Cohen, now ready to sing like a canary. Announcing today his list of 35 witnesses against Manafort, Mueller shows he will to grab low hanging fruit, completely unrelated to the 2016 election.
When Deputy Atty. Gen. Rod Rosenstein appointed Mueller May 17, 2018, his mandate was simple: Prove (a) that Russia meddled in the 2016 election and (b) that Trump colluded with the Kremlin. On both accounts, Mueller has failed, other than prosecuting low-level former Trump campaign officials like George Papadopoulos and former National Security Adviser Gen. Michael Flynn for perjury. Again, Mueller adds nothing to the Russian meddling investigation or probe into alleged Trump collusion. Charging Manafort and his business partner Rick Gates with money laundering, conspiracy, tax evasion, etc., for alleged crimes committed 10 years before the campaign adds nothing to the Russian meddling probe. Democrats and the press have convicted Trump in the court of public opinion, unable to find enough compelling evidence for the D.C. grand jury..
Using former President Bill Clinton and former Democratic nominee Sen. John Kerry’s (D-Mass.) Democrat strategist Tad Devine tells the whole story about Manafort’s desperation to get any conviction after spending millions on what Trump calls a “witch hunt” and “a hoax.” Trump doesn’t deny that Russia’s GRU military intelligence unit hacked the Democratic National Committee and former Hillary Campaign Chairman John Podesta, he rejects the idea that it affected the election. If Russia engages in propaganda and disinformation in the 2016 election, the issue becomes what impact did it have. Since the origins of the Cold War following WW II, the former Soviet Union and now Russian federation engage in a continuous information campaign. State Department officials counter Russian propaganda with its own information campaign against Moscow.
Mueller’s investigation was supposed to focus on alleged Russian meddling and Trump collusion in the 2016 campaign. Going after Manafort shows that Mueller has little to offer the discussion on Russian meddling and Trump collusion, preferring to put his resources into prosecuting Manafort’s private consulting work with former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. Whether or not Manafort collected oodles of cash from the Ukrainian government should be on no consequence to Mueller’s probe into alleged Russian meddling and Trump collusion. Giving five witnesses immunity, Mueller hopes to convict Manafort in federal court for financial crimes unrelated to the 2016 presidential campaign. Getting Manafort’s former business partner Rick Gates to testify against him shows how low Mueller’s willing to go to get a conviction for any unrelated financial crime.
No one in Mueller’s office plans to shed any light on the Russian meddling and Trump collusion investigation. Prosecuting Manafort for financial crimes, the bank or wire fraud or money laundering says nothing about Russian meddling and Trump collusion. Mueller’s game of getting witnesses to testify against the president or his campaign associates shows the desperation to get anything to show for a multi-million dollar investigation. Getting Democrats strategist Tad Devine or former Bill Clinton impeachment attorney Lanny Davis to defend Michael Cohen shows, beyond any doubt, that political parties mean nothing when it comes to corruption.. Both parties routinely pillage-and-plunder the electorate to advance political agendas. Watching Lanny Davis defend Michael Cohen is revolting, especially knowing that both political parties take nothing serious.
Manafort’s case shows the shameful nature of the Special Counsel, unable to charge anyone with Russian meddling or alleged Trump collusion. Mobbing Manafort becomes the latest pastime for Democrats and the press, hoping that enough bad publicity can turn voters against Trump this fall. No jury hearing the Manafort trial with any background in politics can possibly believe that Mueller has not gone out of his lane. Threatening witnesses with long jail times unless they turn against their relatives or best friends shows how the FBI operates. If Trump has doubts about the FBI, it’s due to former FBI Director James Comey using the national security apparatus to help former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton get elected. When the dust settled after the 2016 election, the FBI, Department of Justice, State Department and NSA continues blame Trump for alleged Russian meddling and collusion.
