Fact-checking their own propaganda, Democrat-sponsored cable networks like CNN, MSNBC and CNBC plan to preempt 74-year-old President Donald’s Trump’s Republican National Convent [RNC], something they routinely do when the president gives campaign speeches or interviews. Together of mainstream stations like CBS, NBC, ABC and other local affiliates, it’s possible that the DNC convention will only be heard on Fox News, the cable network owned by 89-year-old Rupert Murdoch. While Fox News employs some anti-Trump hosts, like “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace, Murdoch at least broadcasts the RNC convention. Cutting away from Trump’s speeches and press conferences, the reason given by CNN, MSNBC or others is that Trump spews only pernicious propaganda, something they promise to spare their viewers. Fox’s audience thinks the same way about Democrats.
Calling today’s early acceptance speech “the most recent greatest hits and false statements,” CNN’s anti-Trump primetime news anchor Anderson Cooper justified cutting Trump’s access to CNN’s airwaves. Cooper and his colleague Don Lemon make no pretense about despising Trump, violating CNN’s once journalism ethics, keeping its reporters neutral in Democrat and Republican politics. Former 88-year-old CBS anchor Dan Rather was fired in 2004 for letting one of his producers fraternize with the presidential campaign of former Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.). Today’s fraternization goes way beyond anything Rather did but is considered commonplace, par-for-the-course. Fox News is also guilty of cutting away from Democrat events to air what’s popular on Fox News or other conservative stations. Last week Fox News Sean Hannity cut away from events at the DNC convention.
CNN didn’t cover today’s roll call vote that had Trump exceed the 2,312 delegates to officially win the Republican nomination. While expected, it was not reported by the mainstream press or cable news networks. Today’s media doesn’t cover what it doesn’t want its viewers to see, especially when it comes to Trump because he called the mainstream press out as the “fake news.” CNN and MSNBC had nonstop, gavel-to-gavel coverage of the DNC convention. If the anti-Trump press really thought that playing Trump’s sound bites harmed his campaign, they’d play everything. When they censor RNC proceedings, it’s because they don’t want to give Trump’s campaign any free publicity heading into the Nov. 3 presidential election. “I turned on CNN and they didn’t have this. Can you believe it? They didn’t have it. CNN didn’t have our roll call,” Trump tweeted.
Whether he wants it or not, Trump’s going to have to get use to CNN and MSNBC not playing key parts of the RNC convention. Only parts that make Trump look bad would get played, but only in the context of highlighting gaffes, blunders and blasphemy. For today’s press, journalism is not about reporting facts but editing, censoring and opining, not about who, what, when, where and why. Last week’s DNC convention omitted any mention of the violent protests and anarchy spreading around the country, referring only to peaceful protests. Today’s “peaceful” protests involved riots, looting, arson and anarchy, something sanctioned by Democrats and the mainstream press. CNN and MSNBC would never want to expose their viewers to what’s really happening on American streets. Today’s media’s known as much for what’s not reported as what’s actually gets in the news.
Fact-checkers find everything Joe Biden and Kamala Harris factual, everything that Trump says a bald faced lie. Biden insisted in his acceptance speech that Trump was responsible for the 180,000 coronavirus deaths in the United States, suggesting that if he were in power it wouldn’t have happened. CNN and MSNBC plans to spend most of their coverage of the RNC fact-checking Trump with of course their anti-Trump bias. “Falsely accused Democrats of wanting to shut down the country to hurt the economy, and some how help them at the ballot box. Unclear how angering the entire country by shutting down would help them at the ballot box,” Cooper said, referring to statements made by Biden in a joint press conference with Kamala Harris, saying he’d shut down the economy if recommended by medical experts. Cooper finds everything Biden says factual, everything Trump says a lie.
Journalism has become an appendage of today’s political parties, meaning there’s noting factual, only a politically driven narrative. CNN and MSNBC don’t want to give any credence to recent reports in the Wall Street Journal that shows Trump gaining ground on Biden. Denying Democrat or swing voters access to the RNC, CNN and MSNBC does their part to rob the Trump campaign from any positive publicity. Trump plans to paint a very different portrait of what’s happening in the country. Spending four days slamming Trump on the cornonavirus and weak economy, Democrats don’t want to let their audience hear about Wall Street’s record highs or news vaccines and treatments. Democrats set up their convention as Trump’s failures, not his success stories, something he present all this week. Democrats won’t have an easy time this week censoring what promises to be a positive message.
