LOS ANGELES.–When 81-year-old President Joe Biden stepped away from the 2024 presidential race it was under duress from Democratic Party bosses, specifically 63-year-old former President Barack Obama and 84-year-old former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, it was due to his abysmal June 27 CNN debate performance. Biden looked confused and incoherent debating 78-year-old President Donald Trump, prompting many high profile members of the Democrat Party to call for Biden to end his 2024 campaign. Yet in an odd disconnect, the Democrat Party did not do the right thing to invoke the 25th Amendment, asking for Biden to step down from office due to his obvious age-related cognitive decline. Instead, Party bosses made a grand bargain with Biden, allowing him to continue as president if he handed the 2024 race to 59-yar-old Vice President Kamala Harris.

Looking back on the string of events, it was a dangerous proposition to allow Biden to continue as commander-in-chief, knowing the dangerous foreign policy and national security challenges confronting the White House. It makes absolutely no sense to force Biden to step down from the 2024 because of his cognitive challenges and allow him to remain president for the next five months. In a few days, the U.S. General Assembly meets in New York, with world leaders, including Ukraine’s 46-year-old President Volodymr Zelensky, to discuss pressing national and world security challenges. Zelensky said recently he’s been told “no” about using U.S., U.K. and NATO weapons to hit targets inside the Russian Federation. Zelensky is pushing his “victory plan” asking his allies to allow him to strike military targets inside Russia, knowing the risks of escalation.

Biden is in no position to discuss anything on U.S. foreign policy and national security with Zelensky or any other world leader. But in Zelensky’s case, he still thinks he has sway over the vulnerable U.S. president, no longer in his right state of mind. “I want to thank you all for being here,” Biden said at a meeting with India’s 74-year-old Prime Minister Narenda Modi. Biden then barked, “now, who am I introducing next.” “Who’s next?” Biden shouted, leading to a long silence. Then, an announcer interrupted and introduced Modi, who looked on in disbelief but knowing Biden is just not himself. Vice President Kamala Harris was the first to vouch for Biden’s mental fitness after his disastrous Sept. 27 debate performance, continuing the cover-up of Biden’s senility. For the last four years, Biden’s handlers have kept him away from the press as much as possible, like they did the 2020 presidential campaign.

World leaders all know that Biden is cognitively challenged and not fit to run the world’s biggest economy and most consequential foreign policy. Under his watch, Biden ended decades of diplomacy, détente and arms control with the Russian Federation, all to back Ukraine’s war with the Kremlin. Biden decided, with bipartisan Congressional backing, to fund proxy war with the Kremlin in Ukraine. Biden and Zelensky have sold world leaders on the idea that 71-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin was trying to destroy European democracy, take over more European countries. Putin has said repeatedly he moved his forces into Ukraine to stop the U.S. and NATO from arming Ukraine because it was a threat to Russian national security. Now Zelensky asks the U.S., U.K. and NATO to use donated lethal weapons, including long-range missiles, to attack inside the Russian homeland.

No matter how much Biden’s advisers handle matters of foreign policy and national security, Biden is still commander-in-chief and could make a unilateral decision in Ukraine that could result in escalating the war to European countries. Putin and his 74-year-old Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned the U.S. and NATO that if Zelensky starts using U.S. and NATO weapons to strike inside Russia, he would consider those countries direct combatants in the conflict. Since the war began Feb. 24, 2022, it’s been a proxy war where the U.S., U.K. and NATO supply the cash-and-arms to Ukraine to allow them to do the fighting. Biden has been clear since war started that the allies would not supply troops to fight Ukraine’s war with the Kremlin but would support Ukraine’s military.

Biden is in no position to make any foreign policy or national security decisions, showing progressive decline from his age-related cognitive issues. Kamala said emphatically after Biden’s Sept. 27 debate performance that Biden was sharp as a tack and had no problem continuing his role as commander-in-chief. Instead of doing the right thing and removing Biden from office, Biden’s Cabinet have all covered up his cognitive disability, leaving him unfit to make foreign policy and national security decisions. With Zelensky meeting with Biden, Harris and possibly Trump next week, the time has come for Biden to be removed of his duties as commander-in-chief. Zelensky must be told that Biden cannot make any decisions about whether Ukraine can use U.S., U.K. and NATO weapons to attack the Russian Federation. Biden’s Cabinet should stop covering for him.
