LOS ANGELES.–Ukraine’s 46-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected yet another peace proposal from China and Brazil, calling it “destructive,” complaining that Kiev was not involved in the proposal. Zelensky shows for all to see that as long as the U.S. and NATO foot the bill for his war with the Kremlin, he has no intent of giving up the copious funding. Zelensky has heard many peace proposals over the last three years, all of which he rejects, saying they favor Russia and not Ukraine. Zelensky only goes by his own unrealistic, counterproductive peace plan that demands that 71-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin is charged and arrested for war crimes and that he pay Ukraine reparations for the billions of dollars in property damage and loss of income to the Kiev government. Calling the latest plan “destructive,” Zelensky shows he the last one to make any decisions.

President Joe Biden, 81, and 59-year-old Vice President Kamala Harris, now the Democrat Party 20204 nominee, both support giving Zelensky a blank check to prosecute its with the Kremlin. Since taking U.S. and NATO weapons, Zelensky deviated from restrictions about attacking inside Russia and decided that he would not only hit deep inside Russia with drones and missiles but would seize territory in the Kursk region Aug. 6, a failed military strategy that’s backfiring badly on the Donbas battlefield. Zelensky diverted thousands of necessary troops from the homeland to invade Russia, all to make a point to world leaders that the war was not the stalemate military experts said but proof Kiev was calling the shots. Now Zelensky’s invading forces are taking a beating from Russian forces, while it’s only a matter of time before Ukraine’s beleaguered military is driven from Russian territory.

China and Brazil want an international peace conference with Ukraine and Russia attending where a neutral place could set the conditions for an eventual peace settlement. Zelensky has his own peace plan that involves giving Kiev the green light to use all military means at its disposal to attack inside the Russian Federation with the purpose to forcing Russia to the bargaining table. No military experts or foreign leaders believe Zelensky’s plan would drive Russian forces out of Ukraine. China and Brazil are not the “destructive” one but trying to help resolve a conflict that could escalate to the point of spreading to the European Continent or, in the worst case scenario, prompting Putin to stop Kiev’s aggression by using nuclear weapons. Russia’s 74-year-old Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned of Russian first-strike nuclear doctrine being triggered by Kiev’s aggression.

Zelensky has shown repeatedly he wants no part of any peace plan regardless of the consequences to war spreading to the European Continent. “The Chinese-Brazilian proposal . . . is destructive. It’s just a political statement,” Zelensky told Brazilian press outlet Metropoles. “How can you offer ‘here is our initiative’ without asking anything from us?” Zelensky asked rhetorically, knowing that he’s rejected every peace proposal offered by numerous countries over the last three years. Saying the Chinese-Brazilian proposal lacked respect for Ukraine’s territorial integrity, something that preceded the Feb. 24, 2024 Russian invasion. Russian had troop in Donbas and Crimea since 2014 when a CIA-backed pro-Western coup toppled the Kremlin-backed government of Viktor Yanukovych. Zelensky knows the history but shows no interest in settling the conflict peacefully.

Zelensky’s only condition for starting peace talks or ending the war is Putin removing all Russian troops from Ukraine, including Donbas and Crimea, which would threaten Russia’s Black Sea naval base in Sevastopol. It’s become obvious to outside observers like China and Brazil that Zelensky needs help in moving the peace process forward before the war spirals out-of-control. Zelensky’s latest “peace” plan involves arming Ukraine with more long-range missiles to strike deep inside Russia to convince the Kremlin to withdraw its troops from Ukraine. All of Zelensky’s plans have been rejected by Putin because they don’t recognize facts on the ground in Ukraine, including Russian control of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea. Zelensky wants to wage war with the Kremlin but doesn’t accept Kremlin control over Ukrainian territory.

Biden-Harris have done nothing to encourage Zelensky to compromise in a neutral peace setting, the one likely come up again in Lucerne, Switzerland. Russia was not included in the June 15-16 peace summit. Zelensky uses the peace summit to solicit more cash-and-arms from the U.S. and NATO, not to engage in the hard work of negotiation and compromise. Zelensky wants no compromise, only that Russia remove all its forces from Ukraine, restore post 1991 borders and pay Ukraine war reparations. Zelensky opted for war with the Kremlin after the Feb 24, 2020 invasion, destroying Ukraine infrastructure, driving millions into exile, and most, importantly, bankrupting the Ukrainian economy. Calling the latest peace proposals “more pro-Russian,” saying, “it is necessary to remember that Russia’s love is temporary and Russia’s disrespect for the rule of law is permanent.”
