LOS ANGELES.–Speaking in Harrisburg, Pa., for the first time since the July 14 assassination attempt in Butler, Pa., 78-year-old President Donald Trump slammed Vice President Kamala Harris, now the official Democrat Party presumptive nominee, for her past positions on immigration, police funding, Medicare-for-all and border security. Trump forgets that whatever her past positions, Kamala’s current views, essentially rubber stamping 81-year-old President Joe Biden, are far worse than anything she proposed in the past. Kamala has no degrees of separation with Biden on the Ukraine War, where Biden supplies Ukraine with a blank check of U.S. taxpayer cash to fund unending war with the Kremlin in Ukraine. Kamala has no problem backing Biden’s Ukraine policy even if it destroyed U.S.-Russian relations and pushed the world to another world war in Europe.

Trump told a crowd in Harrisburg that Kamala is the process of a big makeover. “Kamala is now being given a personality makeover,” Trump told his Harrisburg crowd. “All of a sudden she’s the new Margaret Thatcher. The great Margaret Thatcher. No, I don’t think so. But you’re going to learn,” Trump said. Harris said she would like to match up the Biden-Harris record against Trump anyday. “Well Kamala, let’s go. Challenge accepted. Let’s compare our records point-by-point,” Trump said, knowing that Biden doesn’t fair too well on the economy or foreign policy. What’s Biden going to say now that Wall Street has started to sell off, largely because the unemployment rate has ticked up to 4.3% with the weakest jobs report at 114,000 jobs since the 2021 Covid-related recession. Trump wanted to highlight Harris’s opposition to fracking, a big part of the Pennsylvania economy.

Biden and Harris have pushed for electric vehicles, citing climate change data indicating the fossil fuels must be replaced before it destroys the planet. Trump emphasized energy independence for the U.S., investing heavily in fossil fuel infrastructure including the Keystone XL Pipeline that promised to bring fracked oil from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. Biden and Harris seek to take the United States in a different direction, fueling the worst inflation in over 40 years, primarily due to the Ukraine’s War Russian oil embargo. Trump has no problem with electrical vehicles, just doesn’t want them to be part of any government mandate. “No matter how much Kamala Harris tires to change her image, she cannot change this fact. She is the most extreme liberal candidate in the history of our country by far,” Trump said, calling Kamala a “radical left puppet candidate who is fake, fake, fake.”

Kamala can run on the campaign trail but she can’t hide from her liberal record on every conceivable campaign issue. What’s Kamala going to say when she’s forced to take position of energy, criminal justice reform, women’s rights, Roe v. Wade, Ukraine War, the U.S. economy, taxes, economic regulation and every other issue affecting ordinary citizens. Kamala now disowns position she took when she ran for president in 2020. Kamala says she no longer backs a ban on oil fracking, nor does she support packing the Supreme Court with liberal justices. Biden made headlines this week saying he wants Supreme Court reforms, especially about term limits and ethics reform. Harris says she no longer backs Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) Medicare-for-all proposal, a single-payer health care plan. So Kamala has changed on a few positions but not on the major one’s affecting 2024 voters.

Whatever Kamala thought in the past, it’s a whole new ballgame now that she’s the Democrat Party’s presumptive nominee. Kamala once said the Immigration and Custom’s Enforcement [ICE] should not be reformed or funded beyond its current levels. Speaking to the American Assn. of Black Journalists, Trump got himself into hot water talking about Harris’s ethnic identity. “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?” Trump asked infuriating Black journalists. Trump wanted to point out Harris was raised primarily by her biologist East Indian mother Shyamala Gopalan Harris when she and her Jamaican Stanford economist husband Donald J. Harris divorced at age 6. Trump knows that Kamala has risen through the political ranks as a Black politician.

Harris, who married a Jewish entertainment Atty. Doug Emhoff, has very little identity with the East Asian Indian population. Trump wants to point out that Kamala becomes all things to all people, promoting her African American heritage, despite knowing that her father Donald Harris, was not African American. Like former President Barack Obama, who never knew his Kenyan father, was also not African American. Trump would be better off focusing on Kamala’s known liberal positions on everything from Medicare and Social Security to government-sponsored health care. Whether Kamala identifies as an African American or not, it’s the way she climbed up the ladder of California politics, becoming the State Attorney General before winning her race to replace Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.). Trump has plenty of things to go after with Harris other than her racial identity.
