LOS ANGELES.–Democrats have rallied behind 81-year-old President Joe Biden as he faces a major possible pratfall in tonight’s CNN debate in Atlanta with 78-year-old former President Donald Trump. All of the media, with few exceptions, are covering-up Biden’s obvious age-related cognitive decline, blaming Trump of changing tunes on Biden’s expected performance. White House strategists blast the Trump campaign for saying now Biden is a formidable debater, when for months they’ve questioned Biden’s memory and cognitive problems. Democrats point to Biden’s performance at the March 7 State-of-the-Union Speech where Biden seemed unusually hyped up, scolding a bipartisan audience for over an hour. All Democrats are on the same page covering up Biden’s obvious memory and cognitive impairments, vouching for him on his management of the economy and foreign policy.

Any honest look at the economy and foreign policy shows the country in chaos, where a runaway inflation, forcing the Federal Reserve Board to hike interest rates to 23-year highs, has damaged consumers spending, especially for food, energy and big ticket items like cars and real estate. Yet Democrats and the press have no problem touting Biden’s economic record and foreign policy accomplishments. Tonight’s debate, CNN’s pro-Biden moderators, will do doubt steer clear of what’s really happening with the economy and foreign policy. No Democrat or member of the press wants to admit Biden has made a mess of things, pushing the world dangerously close to WW III and nuclear war. Biden’s proxy war in Ukraine against the Kremlin destabilizes peace on the European Continent and pushes WW III to the breaking point with Biden’s war against the Kremlin.

Biden says he’s supporting Ukraine’s right to democracy but actually has pushed democracy in Ukraine beyond reach because of perpetual war with the Russian Federation. Biden signed a 10-year security pact with Ukraine June 13, assuring, during his next term, that the war goes on indefinitely. CNN’s liberal moderators, Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, won’t touch Biden’s foreign policy failures, hoping to keep the heat on Trump. “They talked down Biden before it, then he does fine—and fine looks fantastic after you’ve talked the guy down. And I think they’re doing the same thing now,” said Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), a big Biden supporter. Kaine, Democrats and the press do everything possible to deny that Biden has obvious memory and cognitive problems. They reject Special Counsel Robert Hur’s Feb. 5 report about Biden’s serious memory impairments.

All the talk by Democrats and the press about lowering expectations of Biden, has left Republicans countering all the denial about Biden’s memory impairments and cognitive issues. Democrats are quick to talk about Trump running Biden down, while, at the same time before the debate, talking about his past debating skills. Trump said Biden destroyed former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) in 2012, when they both debated. But 12 years ago hardly characterizes Biden mental state today, which, everyone knows is a shell of his former self. “They should be lower expectations for Trump rather than lowering expectations for Biden,” Kaine said. “I can’t exactly figure out why they’re doing that, but I’ll probably work to Biden’s advantage.” Kaine and other Democrat work in overdrive covering up Biden’s obvious memory and cognitive problems.

Touting Biden’s performance at the State-of-the-Union, Democrats and the press hope for another forceful performance. But the more Biden rants-and-raves, the worse he looks, when he looked angry and unnecessarily combative at the State-of-the-Union Speech. If Biden comes across too combative tonight, it will turn fence-sitting voters off, making him look unfit for president. Biden’s handlers spent the last week learning in mock debates how to provoke Trump into a ballistic episode. So, the real strategy for Biden in tonight’s debate is to get Trump’s goat, anyway he can. Trump has been coached to let Biden do as much talking as possible, even while he’s throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Trump. At some point, Biden won’t sound coherent, no matter how much he’s rescued by CNN’s pro-Biden moderators. Trump needs to let Biden fully expose himself to the public.

All the talk about expectations for either Biden and Trump won’t mean much when the debate actually forces both of them to answer questions, no matter how skewed to favor Biden. Trump needs to point out where the country was four years ago in the economy and foreign policy. No matter how much Biden points to his record, voters have shown they’re not happy with his management of the economy, foreign policy, and certainly the border. Tapper and Bash will do everything possible to focus on controversial accusations about Trump, including his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. Biden has blamed Trump for the riots without any facts proving that he planned or orchestrated the riots. When it comes to foreign policy, Biden plans to tell voters that Trump is a danger of U.S. national security. Voters know that Biden, not Trump, is at war against the Kremlin.
