LOS ANGELES.–Reaping what he sows, 81-year-old President Joe Biden has pushed China and Russia into a close economic, military and strategic alliance, all because Biden decided Feb. 24, 2022 to fund proxy war in Ukraine against the Kremlin. Biden miscalculated how the Ukraine War would all but destroy decades of diplomacy, détente and arms control with the Russian Federation. Every U.S. president since WW II, except Biden, worked hard to develop workable, pragmatic ties to the Kremlin, avoiding for world peace any military confrontation that could lead to the once unthinkable, nuclear war. Biden’s proxy war in Ukraine against the Kremlin raises the specter of nuclear war, especially if the U.S. and Ukraine threaten Russia’s national security. Russian President Vladimir Putin, 71, has said he reserves the right to use nuclear arms if the U.S. threatens Russian sovereignty.
Recent reports about China selling war-making materiel to Russia for the purpose of building missiles, tanks, aircraft and other weapons irks Washington, now threatening more economic sanctions against the Kremlin. Unnamed Pentagon officials confirmed that 90% of Russia microelectronics came from China, showing that close military alliance with the Kremlin. Chinese President Xi Jinping, 70, agrees with Putin that Biden continues to encroach on Chinese and Russian territory. China sold Russia 70% of its $900 million in machine tool imports in the last quarter of 2023. China has been making a fortune, selling Russia $500 million in semiconductors in 2022. Whatever China does for Russia, Biden can’t threaten China with more sanctions without more damage to already frayed relations. Biden chose proxy war against the Kremlin, now he’s paying a draconic price.
Biden’s failed foreign policy with Russia and China, creating the current economic, military and strategic alliance, are all directly related to the Ukraine War. Telling Congress and the EU that if Ukraine loses the war, it would start WW III is preposterous. Putin has no intention of going the war against NATO, he just wants the U.S. to stop supplying arms to Ukraine. With a Swiss peace conference starting June 15 in Lucerne, you’d think Biden and Zelensky would get serious about ending the war. Whatever Russia buys from China, or vice versa, it’s all about a failed U.S. foreign policy that antagonizes Russia and China. Xi sees Biden provoking Putin much like Biden does in Indo-China, trying to undermine Chinese security by forming an anti-China coalition. How can Biden get back to normal diplomatic relations when he threatens Russia and China daily with more sanctions?
Meeting on the Italian island of Capri with the G7 next week, 61-year-old Secretary of State Antony Blinken plans to drum up support for more Chinese sanctions for backing Russia’s Ukraine War. China doesn’t sell Russia direct arms, only provides electronics and raw materials needed for Russian war manufacturing. “The normal trade between China and Russia should not be interfered or restricted,” said Liu Pengyu, Chinese U.S. embassy spokesman. “We urge the U.S. side to refrain from disparaging and scapegoating the normal relationship between China and Russia. U.S. and EU lawmakers don’t admit how the Ukraine War drives Russia and China into a close economic, military and strategic alliance, all because Biden decided to join Ukraine’s war against the Kremlin. Talk of more Russian and Chinese sanctions only drives Russia and China into a tighter bond.
Biden and his 75-year-old Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen continue to threaten China with sanctions if they continue to supply Russia with war-making materiel and technology. “I stressed that companies, including those in the PRC, consequences if they do. And I reinforced that any bank that facilitates significant transactions that channel military or dual0-se good to Russia’s defense industrial base expose themselves to the risk of U.S. sanctions,” Yellen threatened Communist China. Whatever alliance exists between Russia and China, it’s directly related to the Ukraine War and Biden’s attempt to put together an anti-Chinese coalition in the Pacific Rim, including Japan, South Korea, Philippines and Australia. Unless there a change in Biden’s foreign policy, the U.S. could be looking at a two-front world war, one in Ukraine the other in Taiwan.
