LOS ANGELES.–Hosting 60-year-old Hungarian President Viktor Orban at Mar-a-lago March 9, 71-year-old President Donald Trump told the nationalist premier that he will no longer fund the Ukraine War. “He will not give a penny into the Ukraine-Russian war and therefore the war will lend,” Orban told state Hungarian state TV late Sunday, March 10. Orban, who’s a member in good standing of the European Union and NATO, said the way to end the war is to stop funding Ukraine. “If the Americans do not give money and weapons, and also the Europeans, then this war will be over. And if the Americans do not give money, the Europeans are unable to finance this war on their own, and then the war will end,” said Orban. White House backed by the U.S. press supports the Ukraine War against the Kremlin because 81-year-old President Joe Biden says the war defends European democracy.
Trump was slammed by the White House for meetings with Orban at his Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago residence to discuss border security among other things. White House officials portray Orban as a Kremlin puppet, despite his EU and NATO membership, making him fully invested in the Western alliance. Unlike Biden and other EU officials, Orban opposes the Ukraine War because it destabilizes peace on the European Continent. He sees nothing positive about the war either for Ukraine or Russia, seeking, at the earliest possible time, to move the conflict to the peace table. Trump is the only U.S. official who said unambiguously saying that he would end the conflict in the first 24 hours. Trump’s plans were on full display with Orban, saying he would pull the plug on Ukraine War funding. Orban said without war funding the conflict would end quickly.
Biden and Ukraine’s 46-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky has pushed the false narrative that Ukraine defends European democracy. Bankrupt and war-torn Ukraine is in no position to defend anything other than its own territory, claiming its run out of arms and ammunition, now giving Russia the advantage. Zelensky promised last year that he would, with new U.S. and NATO arms, including sophisticated new tanks and armored personnel carriers, drive Russian troops from Ukrainian soil. Because that never happened, it raised doubts to Biden’s former top Gen. Mark Miley and Zelensky’s former top Gen. Valery Zaluznhy, saying there’s only a political solution to the Ukraine War. Biden and Zelensky essentially fired their generals for spreading factual information about the Ukraine War that the conflict was in a virtual stalemate.
Zelensky has said that the Ukraine War defends European democracy, knowing that’s the job of NATO, not Ukraine. Zelensky opted after the Feb. 24, 2022 Russian invasion to go to war against the Kremlin. Putin offered Zelensky to end the conflict by accepting the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk and Russian sovereignty over Crimea. Zelensky rejected Putin’s offer going to war against the Kremlin, destroying much of Ukraine’s infrastructure and bankrupting the Kiev government. Over two years of war with the Kremlin, Zelensky lost some 20-25% of Ukraine’s sovereign territory. Biden and Zelensky have maintained their disinformation that with more time and weapons, Ukraine would eventually win the war with the Kremlin. Biden and Zelensky’s former generals do not see a military solution to the Ukraine War, believing only a political solution can end the conflict.
So, when Orban met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago it was to strategize how to eventually end the Ukraine War. Orban is on record saying he believes Trump in the only one that can end the reckless, deadly, costly Ukraine War. Biden and Zelensky have rejected any peace proposals offered over the last two years by several countries, including China, South Africa and Brazil, all rejected by Biden and Zelensky because they appear to favor Russia. Continuing the Ukraine War threatens the security on the European Continent, primarily because as the war goes on anything can happen, including some unforeseen mishap. Judging by Biden’s State-of-the-Union, he accused Trump of bowing down to Putin. Trump said if he were president, the Ukraine War would have never happened. Biden refused to renegotiate new security arrangements with Putin before the Feb. 24, 2022 invasion.
No one in the White House, Congress or European Union have a plan for moving the Ukraine War to the peace table. Europeans don’t want more war with the Kremlin over Ukraine. EU officials, against White House advice, want a negotiated settlement brokered by U.N. peacemakers, something that could have happened over two years ago. Zelensky set unrealistic conditions for ceasefire and peace talks, expecting Putin to pay war reparations and submit himself to prosecution at The Hague’s International Criminal Court. How are Zelensky’s demands supposed to do anything other than escalate the war? To Zelensky, the war is about locking up U.S. and NATO cash, not about ending the conflict. Discussing options for ending the deadly and destructive Ukraine War, Trump and Orban think it’s in is in the interests of Ukraine, Russia and world peace to end the war.
