LOS ANGELES.–Former President Donald Trump, 77, threw the U.S. press for a loop today, saying he backed In Vitro Fertilization [IVF] procedures, something banned in the new Alabama Right to life bill, saying that fertilized embryos created in the IVF procedures are protected under the Constitution as human beings, entitled to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Trump’s Make American Great Again [MAGA] has been so demonized in the media it might as well stand for Adolf Hilter’s Third Reich. Trump has been blamed by Democrats and the press for his three Supreme Court picks that voted June 24, 2022 to overturn 1973 Roe v. Wade, the landmark ruling legalizing abortion in the United States. Prolife opponents worked nearly 50 years to overturn the ruling, believing that it violated the unborn child’s Constitutional rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
Trump was accused during the 2016 presidential campaign of being a pro-choice liberal by 53-year-old Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx.), underlying the fact that liberals and conservatives completely misstate the MAGA agenda involving economic prosperity and respect for human life, not extremist views pushed by some on the pro-life right. Trump has been painted by Democrats and the press as a right wing extremist but he’s anything but. “Under my leadership, the Republican Party will always support the creation of strong, thriving, health American families. We want to make it easier for mothers and fathers to have babies, not harder! That included the availability of fertility treatments like IVF in very Stat in America,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform. Democrats and the press blame Trump for ending Roe v. Wade put abortions in state control
Trump’s statement on IVF counters the recent George Supreme Court ruling that says all embryos must be protected under the Constitution, meaning if they die in the fertility process, the state could prosecute physicians for murder. “Like the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Americans, including the VAST MAJORITY of Republicans, Conservatives, Christians and Pro-Life Americans, I strongly support the availability of IVF for couples who are trying to have a precious baby,” Trump said on Truth Social, contradicting the fake Democrat and media narrative about him. President Joe Biden talks about MAGA extremists, when, in fact, MAGA is opposed to reckless and wasteful foreign wars like the one in Ukraine that could get Europe and the U.S. into WW III. Biden calls Trump an extremist for pure politics when he knows he’s a moderate Republican, opposed to foreign wars.
Trump’s message undermines the White House narrative on Trump that he’s a right wing fanatic, opposed to civil and women’s rights. “Donald Trump is responsible for every abortion ban, every attack on contraception, and every cruel, dangerous restriction placed on women and there ability to decide when and how to build a family,” said Biden campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt in a statement. When a campaign deliberately misleads the public on one issue, you can rest assured they’re misleading on all issues. Trump wasn’t on the Supreme Court when they ruled June 24, 2022 in favor of Dobbs v. Women’s Health Organization that the Constitution had no inherent right to abortion. Pro-choice advocates said Row v. Wade gave women a right to chose medical decision-making, not abortion per se. But whatever happened in the Supreme Court, it was not Trump’s personal decision.
Alabama’s high court ruled Feb. 22 that embryos created in the IVF procedure had the same protections as any mullti-cellular embryo, giving any level of embryological development the same Constitutional protections. IVF clinics in Alabama put a hold on performing IVF procedures fearing if an embryo dies in the process the state could prosecute doctors performing IVF procedures. Alabama’s Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos used for IVF procedures are subject to the same protections as any other unborn child. Alabama’s the first High Court to say that life begins at conception, with all its Constitutional protections. “That’s a hard one. It really is,” said Sen. Tommy Tubberville (R-Al.), not sure what infertile Alabama women would do without access to IVF procedures. Democrat and press distort Trump’s position when he say he favors women receiving IVF procedures.
Democrats and the media must stop distorting Trump’s MAGA positions as opposing abortion at all costs. Trump picked Supreme Court justices not on their positions on Roe v. Wade but on their credentials and track records on the bench. Whatever happened with the Jan. 24, 2022 ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, it had little to do with Trump, only the Supreme Court justices voting on a Constitutional issue. Trump made his views know about TVF and the Alabama Supreme Court ruling that made frozen embryos used in IFV procedures subject to the same Constitutional protections as other embryos, marking an embryo’s rights at conception. “The difference is—and this is what I say about abortion as well—we need to treat these issues with the utmost respect,” 51-year-old former U.N. Amb. Nikki Haley GOP candidate said. Democrats and the media should stop lying about Trump’s MAGA views.
