Today’s Associated Press/-NORC poll for public research gave bad news for 80-year-old President Joe Biden, finding that 77% of Democrats and Republicans say Biden is too old to run for as second term.. While 69% of Democrats think Biden is too old for a second term, 89% of Republicans think the same, leading to the overall 77% figure. Biden’s trips-and-falls are well-documented by the media, not to mention his all-too-often gaffes on a variety of tops. Biden knows he has the perfect way out of running with 55-year-old California Gov. Gavin Newsom ready to jump in. Newsom and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis irked the Biden and Trump campaigns by trying to work out a debate between the tow younger governors, with DeSantis only 44. Biden once said he would be a one-term president when first running in 2020, saying his mission was to defeat former President Donald Trump.

When Biden approached the 2024 election, he changed his mind, largely because of the whopping 524 members of the White House staff, not too mention thousands more in various Cabinet-level departments. Whatever the reason Biden changed his mind, he’s quite flippant about his reasoning behind running for a second term, telling the press that no one can keep up with him, often doing photo-ops with his Secret Service staff riding bikes or jogging on the beach. How many mishaps have not been reported to the press is anyone’s guess. But when entering or leaving Air Force One or his Marine transport helicopter, Biden looks frail, shuffling around looking every bit his age. Whether admitted to or not by his 49-year-old Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre, Biden’s age has been a growing problem, not to mention his insistence on certain foreign policy issues.

AP-NORC’s poll show that voters have reservations about 77-year-old former President Donald Trump, not showing the signs of aging as much as Biden. But many voters question what Trump would look like by the end of his term in office, at 84-years-of age. Many voters have reservations about Trump because of his many legal challenges, charged by the government with 91 felonies, whether or not any of the charges actually stick. Newsom and DeSantis remind voters that there are younger candidates capable to taking over on the Democrat and Republican side. Newsom irks the White House staging a publicity stunt with DeSantis, largely because Newsom says he won’t run unless Biden changes his mind. Biden’s staff thinks Newsom tries to get Biden to drop out of the race, leaving the California governor has the prohibitive front-runner. DeSaniis currently runs 30 points behind Trump.

Newsom is ready-and-willing to step into the Democrat front-runner if Biden decides it’s not in the nation’s best interest to continue his leadership. Biden has convinced himself, with Republican war hawks like Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) by his side, to continue the proxy war against the Russian Federation. DeSantis, as the most logical option to Trump, says he would end the Ukraine War at the earliest possible time. Trump has told voters that he would end the war before he takes office or at lead right after his inauguration. Biden has said he will continue the war indefinitely until Ukraine drives Russia out of its sovereign territory, including the Crimean Peninsula. Russia has occupied Crimea since March 1, 2014 when a Feb. 22, 2014 CIA-backed coup drove Kremlin-backed President Viktro Yanukovych out of Kiev. Taking over Crime would be a major escalation in the war.

Biden promises in any second term to spend untold billions funding the bankrupt Kiev government and war with the Kremlin. Meanwhile, U.S.-Russian relations, under Biden, are on a war footing, with all cooperation on arms control and other pressing global issues tabled for the indefinite future. How Biden decided unilaterally that decades of diplomacy and détente could be sacrificed is anyone’s guess? Biden insists, without proof, the 70-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks to take over other European countries. He calls the Ukraine War the last defense of democracy in Europe, knowing that NATO, not Ukraien, has the responsibility to protect European democracy, not bankrupt and war-ravaged Ukraine. Biden’s rigidity on the Ukraine War commits the U.S. Treasury to untold billions in future investment in Ukraine. Biden can’t explain any end point to the war against the Kremlin.

Today’s AP-NORC survey gives Biden a harsh reality check about his fitness to run for a second term. No one in the Democrat Party wants to be rude but the facts are obvious to everyone. Biden is too old to run for another four-year-term. There’s simply too much at stake in foreign policy and the economy to hand the reigns to Biden. If the Ukraine War spirals out of control, dragging NATO in to a new ground war with Russia, it would crash the U.S. and world economy. Biden claims without the Ukraine War Putin would take over Europe, a preposterous statement. Putin would not go to war with a NATO country knowing it would end his regime, or possibly the world should he use nuclear weapons. Under Biden, the Association of Nuclear Scientists say they doomsday clock as moved closer to midnight. Biden’s proxy war with the Kremlin upends global stability and world peace.
