Speaking to the American public tonight about the great progress in defeating the Covid-19 crisis, 78-year-old President Joe Biden looked frail repeating old campaign themes of how he would tell the American people the truth. Implying that his predecessor, 74-year-old President Donald Trump, didn’t, Biden told the public with a straight face that more people, some 10% of the American public, have been vaccinated on his watch. What Biden didn’t say was that no one would be vaccinated were it not for Trump’s May 26, 2020 Operation Warp Speed that paid drug makers billions and pushed them since to produce a vaccine by around Election Day. Biden and 56-eyuar-old Vice President Kamala Harris told voters before they won the Nov. 3, 2020 election that they should not trust any vaccine developed under Trump. Once Nov. 3 passed, they were both in on the vaccines.
Biden’s statement of facts can’t passed unnoticed, saying tonight that Trump didn’t get enough people vaccinated, hinting at chaos rolling out vaccines. Can you imagine the temerity, the specious narrative Biden tells about the vaccine rollout. Does Joe remember the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine wasn’t given FSA Emergency Use Authorization [EUA] until Dec. 11, 2020, about a month after the election? How was that misleading the public that months earlier Trump gave a vaccine completion date almost to the minute. Moderna followed Pfizer-BioNTech by one week, getting EUA Dec. 18, 2020, eventually making its way to market. Trump didn’t enjoy the widespread roll-out because the vaccines were still hot off the press by the time he left office. Biden said his administration was on a pace to give 2 million shots a day, reaching the goal of 100 million shots before 100 days.
Biden’s all excited about ramping up vaccines developed under Trump’s Operation Warp Speed, despite telling voters not to trust anything developed under Trump. Yet to Biden, it’s all about trashing Trump and taking full credit for the Trump administration’s hard work. “No other country in the world has done this. None,” Biden crowed in his speech. But where would Biden be without Operation Warp Speed? When Biden talks about no other country has vaccinated more, he ignored completely that the Russian Federation announced Sputnik V Nov. 11, about a month before Pfizer. Since taking office, Biden has driven U.S.-Russian relations to the lowest level since the 1962 Cuban missile crisis. Instead of working on the Covid-19 global pandemic with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Biden sanctioned the Kremlin for its treatment of 44-year-old Russian dissident Alexi Navalny.
Putin’s Sputnik V vaccine has become a worldwide sensation after the British Medical Journal Lancet determined Feb. 2 it was 92% effective and completely safe for use. Since then Putin’s received billions or orders from India to Africa and all the way to Brazil and Argentina. Working together with Putin, the world would be far better off than hearing about how many shots Biden has given in the U.S. If Joe and his 58-year-old Secretary of State Tony Blinken hadn’t alienated Putin, the U.S. and Russia could have worked together to beat the global coronavirus pandemic. With vaccine shortages in the U.S. and in Europe, Sputnik V would have been welcomed with open arms. “A collective suffering, collective sacrifice, a years filled with a loss of life and a loss of living for all of us,” Biden told the American public. Biden hopes to get every American citizen vaccine eligible by May 1.
Biden would be far better off to avoid trashing former President Trump, giving credit where credit’s due, especially on vaccine development. It’s not telling the truth, telling the American public that Trump did a poor job of getting out the vaccines, when they were barely available for distribution by the time he left office. “This doesn’t mean everyone’s going to have that shot immediately, but it means you’ll be able to get in line on May 1,” Biden said tonight. Biden pleaded with the American public to get vaccinated at the earliest possible time, so that by July 4, Americans can enjoy the holiday at least in small groups. “I need you to get vaccinated when it’s your turn and when you can find an opportunity,” Biden said, working with friend-and-neighbors to help them get vaccinated. Biden announced completion of the $1.9 trillion Covid-19 relief bill, bringing urgent financial relief.
With the U.S. media behind him, Biden doesn’t have to do or say much to get good press, something Trump never got. Unlike his predecessors, Biden’s hasn’t given a press conference since sworn in Jan. 20. Biden said in the coming days he’s be going around the country to talk about his American rescue plan, putting $1,400 in taxpayers pockets, up to $5,600 per family of four. Since the $2.2 trillion January 26, 2020 CARES Act, the latest stimulus package is popular with Wall Street and with the American public. “But to get there, we can’t let our guard down. This fight is far from over . . .One July 4 with your loved ones is the goal,” Biden said, letting the American public know that more sacrifices were ahead to beat the virus. Biden said he would tell the truth to the American public. How about telling them how hard Trump worked to get safe and effective vaccines to the public.
