With accused sex trafficker 66-year-old Jeffrey Epstein dead from suicide—or whatever—Aug. 10, 2019 and his 58-year-old alleged partner-in-crime Ghislaine Maxwell in federal custody, victims are signing like canaries, implicating the rich-and-famous, including 81-year-old emeritus Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz. One of Epstein’s victims in the sex-trafficking trade was Virginia Giuffre who claimed, as a 17-year-old, Maxwell arranged for her to have sex with Dershowitz. While there’s nothing new about Giuffre’s charges, suing Dershowitz for years, even with new evidence surfacing daily while Maxwell awaits triall for her role in playing madam for Epstein in his sex trafficking ring. Giuffre claims she worked in 2000 at 74-year-old President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf resort before propositioned by Maxwell to become Epstein’s personal masseuse.
Dershowitz has denied Giuffre’s claims, insisting she’s a gold digger, looking to extort millions from the rich-and-famous. While Giuffre and Desrshowtiz sue each other for defamation, there’s no reason someone of Dershowitz’s stature would be affiliated with Epstein’s smut machine unless something happened. Giuffre, now 37, has been suing Dershowitz for years, unable to get any kind of settlement from NFL Hall of Fame running back OJ Simpson’s.defense attorney. Dershowitz played a key role in helping to discredit DNA evidence at Simpson’s 1995 double-murder trial that mesmerized the nation, making Dershowitz, the late Atty. Johnnie Cochran and Atty. Robert Shapiro household names. Dershowitz has called Giuffre a “serial liar,” denying accusations that he slept with her on multiple occasions. Whatever Dershowitz’s denials, he’s been implicated in something very sleazy.
When charges are made against anyone of any fame-or-stature, denials go with the territory, unless criminal defendants are suicidal. Dershowitz will go to his grave denying Giuffre’s charges. But the real question is why Dershowitz was fingered, not some other celebrity or rich person? To think Giuffre scans the celebrity or rich-and-famous pool to accuse some random person is preposterous. While there’s not hard proof yet to tie Dershowitz to Giuffre, there’s plenty of circumstantial evidence making plausible deniability more difficult. At the time Dershowitz allegedly had sex with Fiuffre, he was four years removed from the OJ Trial, ending in acquittal Oct. 2, 1995, riding high in celebrity circles. Associating with Epstein or Maxwell in 2000 would have been reputation suicide for Dershowitz, associating with reckless party animals like Epstein and Maxwell.
Giuffre has spent years with her attorneys trying to expose Maxwell’s involvement in Epstein’s sex trafficking operation, claiming she was pawned by Maxwell to become Dershowitz’s teenage sex slave. Judge Loretta Preska, presiding over Maxwell’s sex trafficking trial, agreed to release a trove of new documents. “I am gratified that Judge Loretta Preska has ordered the unsealing of documents in the Maxwell case,” Dershowitz wrote in his statement. “I have been requesting the unsealing of all documents, because I have nothing to hide. I did absolutely nothing wrong, and the documents contain proof of my total innocence,” Dershowitz wrote. Dershowitz was retained by Epstein in 2008 for sex with underage minors, managed to get Espstein to spend most of his jail time in home confinement. Giuffre’s allegations against Dershowitz were contained in a 2,000-page document dump last year.
Dershowitz’s denials have a strange ring to them, stating emphatically “he did nothing wrong,” meaning he may have had sex with Giuffre but she was over the age to 18. “I did absolutely nothing wrong,” Dershowtiz wrote, is much different than saying he categorically denies every having sex with Giuffre. Giuffre claims she was personally groomed by Maxwell to serve the pleasure of powerful men like Dershowitz or former President Bill Clinton, another well-known client of Epstein, who flew to Epstein’s sex island, Little Saint James, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Other noteworthy celebs implicated by Giuffre included 63-year-old financier Glen Dubin, 74-year-old model scout Jean Luc Brunel and former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, all of whom have denied Giuffre’s charges. Maxwell’s attorney tried unsuccessfully to keep Giuffre and Dershowitz defamation documents sealed.
Desrhowitz gives away what really happened, seriously implicating him in unlawful sex with a minor. Apart from calling Giuffre a “serial liar,” Dershowitz accused Giuffre of saying she was younger than she was when she met Epstein and Maxwell. In other words, Dershowitz hasn’t denied having sex with Giufffre, he raised doubts about her age at the time that it happened. Giuffre claims she met Al and Tipper Gore [before they separated in 2010] and former President Bill Clinton at Epstein’s island den of iniquity, “Virginia Giuffre is a serial liar who has deliberately made up stories about me and others in hopes of cashing in on millions of dollars,” Dershowitz said, not denying that he had sex with her in Epstein and Maxwell’s sex trafficking escapades. When Dershowitz says “she was younger that that she was when she met Maxwell and Epstein,” he’s saying she was legal.
