Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Co-Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, continues to spew pernicious propaganda about 71-year-old President Donald Trump’s alleged ties with Russia. While Special Counsel former FBI Director Robert Mueller has found no collusion with Trump and Russia, Schiff couldn’t contain his glee when Mueller announced Oct. 30 that former Trump Campaign Chair Paul Manafort and his business partner Rick Gates were charged with “conspiracy,” money laundering and tax evasion in connection with consulting work done in the Ukraine in 2006. Schiff also rejoiced with Mueller’s plea deal with former 31-year-old Trump foreign policy adviser George Papandopoulos for lying to FBI agents about his Russian contacts while working for the campaign in 2016. Schiff applauds every time anyone has any dirt on Trump.
Schiff concludes that every bit of circumstantial evidence related to Trump’s Russian ties proves his theory of Russian collusion. “I do feel our democracy in under threat,” Schiff told the Associated Press. Schiff works the liberal press over like a skilled boxer, whose opponent is more than willing to throw the fight. “In many respects the challenge from within is more serious because we have a president who takes issue with the First Amendment and a president who describes the press as the enemy of the people,” said Schiff, displaying his sophistry, but, more importantly, exposing his pernicious propaganda. Schiff knows that Trump’s press criticism stems from verified media bias against him. Harvard University set the record straight May 17, exposing that about 90% of press coverage of Trump are negative, showing Democrat bias in broadcast and print outlets.
`Schiff talks of saving democracy from Russia influence in the political process yet says nothing when it comes to today’s egregious media bias against Trump. Repeating old talking points about Trump’s attitude toward judges or his immigration ban, Schiff shows himself as one his Party’s biggest hacks in Congress. “So no matter what is produced, he says it’s fake,” said Schiff regarding revelations about Manafort, Gates and Papadopoulos. Because the media colludes with Democrats against Trump, Schiff’s hyperbole remarks make headlines. When you consider the Russian collusion investigation has gone on for more than a year without any evidence, Schiff continues to beat a dead horse. Manfort or Papadopoulos charges have nothing to do with Russian collusion. Schiff likes to point to former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn as proof of collusion.
Flynn denied talking to former Russian Amb. Sergey Kislyak during the campaign, telling Vice President Mike Pence he had no contact. When Flynn was confronted with “unmasked” wiretapped conversations with Kislyak, he had to confess. Resigning from the Trump White House Feb. 13, Flynn admitted to talking to Kislyak about setting up future meetings with Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Flynn also reportedly discussed the future of Russian sanctions. Part of the transition team, it was completely appropriate for Flynn and other Trump officials to start building rapport with the Russian government. Schiff and other members of Congress make any Russian contact as proof of collusion, if not treason. Schiff has made informal Trump adviser Carter Page’s contacts with Russia as proof of collusion, something denied in Congressional testimony.
Schiff wants no part of anything when it comes to former Democratic nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton. He has no comment about recent revelations about Hillary controlling the Democratic National Committee. Former DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was fired July 25 for sabotaging the campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Wasserman’s replacement, former interim DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile admitted in her new book “Hacks,” that Hillary controlled personnel and money at the DNC. Yet Schiff sees no reason to look into anything when it comes to Hillary. When 33,000 emails were deliberately scrubbed from Hillary’s private server and she destroyed some 13 Blackberries, Schiff shrugged. Schiff prefers talking about Trump’s travel ban or firing former FBI Director James Comey as proof of racism and obstruction of justice.
Blowing smoke about threats to U.S. democracy, Schiff doesn’t see how his Party never accepted the outcome of the Nov. 8, 2017 election, continuing the pound the Party narrative that Russia kept Hillary out of the White House. Schiff knows that Hillary blames James Comey, the Russians and Bernie Sanders for why she lost the election. Schiff prefers to stay fixated on Hillary’s Russian talking points, insisting Trump officials colluded with the Kremlin to win the 2016 election. Throwing the book at Manafort, Mueller adds nothing to his mandate investigating Russian interference and Trump collusion in the 2016 election. “I think we’re going to be held to account one day for what we did when our democracy was under threat,” said Schiff diverting attention away from the fact there’s zero proof of Trump’s Russian collusion. Schiff can only speak in platitudes about “democracy” because Mueller has no evidence of Russian collusion.
