Telling the NetrootsNation conference in Atlanta that North Korea’s Kim Jong-un was more responsible than President Donald Trump, Democratic National Committee Deputy Chairman Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) exposed the true voice of the Democratic Party. Ellison, who was beat out by former Labor Secretary Tom Perez for DNC chairman Feb. 25, 2017, shows fanatical partisanship against President Trump. Ellison, whose past controversial remarks parallel those of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farakhan, revealed the DNC strategy heading into the 2018 Midterm elections. Ripping Trump for everything but the kitchen sink, the DNC hopes to turn the U.S. Senate back to Democrats, hoping for a popular uprising against Trump. Ellison slammed Trump for talking smack to North Korea, warning Kim’s Stalinist regime that any more threats against the U.S would be met with force.
Ellison admitted that “North Korea is a serious thing,” but largely blamed Trump for the current escalation that could lead to military action. “You have this guy making bellicose threats against somebody else who has very little to lose over there. Kim Jong-un , the world always thought he was not a responsible leader; well, he’s acting more responsible than this guy is,” Ellison told a Q&A session. Ellsion mentions nothing of Kim threatening to turn the U.S. to ashes with a nuclear strike, something growing more possible every day. Ellison mentions nothing of the Washington Post story citing a Defense Intelligence report that Kim has mastered miniaturizing nuclear warheads to fit on his Hwasong-14 Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles. No, Ellison only blames Trump for telling the North Korean dictator that any more threats on the U.S. or its allies would be met with force.
Miscalculating the polls, Ellision didn’t read the recent Rasmussen poll that showed Trump’s handling of the North Korean crisis bumping up his approval ratings by six percent in one week to 45%. While not yet 50%, it won’t take much more to boost Trump’s approval ratings to respectable levels. Walking back his remarks to the Washington Post, Ellison realized the damage to the DNC’s credibility. “That was one of those I wish I’d not said,” Ellison told the Post. But Ellison’s remarks reveal the DNC’s strategy going forward: Continue slamming the president for political purposes. Ellison called the North Korean threat is “serious” but blames Trump for escalating the crisis. Trump’s strong response was the only deterrent from Kim doing something erratic, like trying to attack the U.S. territory of Guam. Listening the Ellison, the public gets a clear picture inside the DNC.
When WikiLeaks exposed shenanigans inside the DNC last summer, it showed how former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton worked in cahoots with DNC Chairman Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-Fl.). Wasserman-Shultz, before she reigned July 24, 2016, sabotaged the campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), working behind the scenes with Hillary to win the nomination. Hillary likes to blame the alleged Russian hack of the DNC and her former Chairman John D. Podesta for why Trump won the Nov. 8, 2016 election. But with everything added up, the hacks only exposed Hillary’s behind the scenes monkey business, leading the public to grow weary of her candidacy. Ellison did everything possible during the campaign to position himself to take over the DNC from acting Chairwoman Donna Brazile. Brazile’s own scandals wrecked her chances to become DNC chairwoman.
Ellison didn’t follow Trump verbal confrontation with Kim that closely. He mentioned nothing about Defense Secretary James Mattis follow up, telling Kim that if he didn’t watch himself he’d cause regime change and the destruction of his own people, something far more draconic than anything Trump said about “fire-and-fury.” Despite retracting his remarks, Ellison made plenty of excuses how his words were twisted by the press. “It’s tailor-made for somebody to misuse. I’d say, he’s being incredibly irresponsible, and he’s putting us in a situation where you could have an accidental launch,” said Ellison, suggesting that Kim would launch an ICBM by accident. Kim’s been testing nukes and firing ballistic missiles for years, nothing accidental. Firing off ICBMs are designed to tell the Pentagon to not mess with North Korea without facing dangerous consequences.
Ellison can’t really walk back his outrageous comments because they state the true position of the Democratic Party. Party officials since Trump’s Nov. 8, 2016 election have been tying him to the Kremlin, something Hillary did in the final televised debate Oct. 19. 2016 in Las Vegas. When you consider the DNC narrative, Trump’s nothing more, as Hillary said, a “Putin puppet.” Ellison doesn’t care about the real danger posed by North Korea to U.S. national security. “If [Kim] utters one threat in the form of an over threat . . . or if he does anything with respect to Guam or any place else that’s an American territory or an American ally, he will truly regret it and he will regret it fast,” Trump told reporters at his National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. Partisan hacks like Ellison make the Party look bad, putting politics over U.S. national security, requiring both parties to come together.
