Airing more dirty laundry in public, the so-called Quad-Squad, comprised of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-Ny.). Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.). Rep Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.),. continued the Trump-the-racist narrative after he tweeted July 14 that all four should “go back” and fix their broken countries. Only Omar was born outside the U.S. in Somalia, before immigrating to U.S. with her family at age 10. All four House freshman Democrats want to impeach Trump for what they think are high-crimes-and-misdemeanors. Trump infuriated the bunch tweeting about they “going home” to fix their broken countries. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi exposed deep division with the hard left, seeking, without legal merit, to impeach Trump at all costs, regardless of what it does to the 2020 election. Pelosi let the Quad-Squad know that impeaching Trump would backfire.
Pelosi has already had her dust-up with the Quad-Squad, telling them they’re only “four votes,” urging them—especially Ocasio-Cortez—to stop sucking the oxygen out of the Democrat Party, despite holding minority opinions about the Party’s direction. All four freshman Reps consider themselves “Democratic Socialists,” the same ilk as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), whose proposals for free college tuition, student loan debt forgiveness, reparations for African Americans and open borders, have shaken the Democrat Party to the core. Pelosi has been put on notice that the Quad-Squad won’t be silenced by moderate voices within the Party, including current front-runner 76-year-old former Vice President Joe Biden whose politics plays right down the center of the Party. While Trump’s “go home” comments drew criticism from both sides of the aisle, it resonates with white voters.
Pelosi sees the big picture, the optics of a Democrat Party bullied by so-called women-of-color, whose politics lean too far to the left to appeal to independent voters. No matter how much voters find Trump obnoxious, they find a socialist Democrat Party even more onerous. Yet with the Quad-Quad getting all the press, Biden and other moderates looked drowned out by Ocasio-Cortez, Omar, Tlaib and Pressley, especially with their public feud with Pelosi. Pelosi has tried, but failed, to stop the group from stealing Democrat headlines with the help of the media, whose hatred toward Trump has breached every principle of responsible journalism. For nearly two years during Special Counsel Robert Mueller criminal probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and alleged Trump collusion and obstruction of justice, the media had Trump convicted of high-crimes-and-misdemeanors.
When Mueller released his final report March 22, essentially clearing Trump of criminal wrongdoing, Congressional Democrats and the media doubled down on Trump’s guilt. No one pushed for impeachment more than the Quad-Squad, ignoring Mueller’s findings and making up their own narrative. If you asked any of the Quad-Squad whether or not Trump committed high-crimes-and-misdemeanors, they would all say, yes! Yet Pelosi tried to tell impeachment advocates she’d let the facts take her in the right direction, away from impeachment after the Muller Report. Trump’s recent “go home” remarks were not racist but a reflection of the hard-left’s rejection of all his presidential policies, especially his border policy. Ocasio-Perez, Omar, Tlaib and Pressley have said Trump runs Nazi-like concentration camps on the border, when, in fact, he continued the old detention policy of former President Barack Obama.
In their quest to paint Trump as a racist, the Quad-Squad has exposed for all to see the policies of the hard-right, especially when it comes to open borders. Trump wants the Quad-Squad to admit that the U.S. has the most humane border policies on the planet, where illegal aliens have more rights under the U.S. Constitution than citizens of failed states replete with gang violence South of the Border. When the Quad-Squad eclipses Pelosi’s message, they inadvertently present themselves as the mainstream Democrat Party. So-called persons-of-color with the Party want over-representation, claiming they’ve endured “blood, sweat and tears,” to secure minority rights. But the Democrat Party now looks like in represents people-of-color and the Lesbian, Bisexual, Queer, Transgender [LBGTQ] community more than the white majority. Pelosi, and candidates like Biden, fear the consequences.
Taking on the president in the Democrat-friendly press could backfire on Party by leaving voters with the impression they represent minorities, not the white mainstream. A recent anonymous poll found today that the vast majority of white Democrats and independent voters don’t support the politics espoused by the Quad-Squad, and other socialist-leaning candidates. If there’s anything revealing in the poll, it found that mainstream voters don’t like the politics of Ocasio-Cortez, Omar, Tlaib and Pressley, no matter how much they go after Trump. More progressive push back against Pelosi and other centrist Democrats leaves mainstream Democrats turned off. Whether Trump’s comments are racist is anyone’s guess. What’s known for sure is that the Quad-Squad has already tried-and-convicted him of high-crimes-and-misdemeanors. Trump’s remarks say more about that than racism.
