Showing why he’s unfit to lead the Palestine Liberation Organization [PLO] in its quest for Mideast peace, 81-year-old Chairman Mahmoud Abbas spewed Nazi-like anti-Semitic hate-speech to his Palestinian Council April 30. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said for some time Israel has no peace partner with Hamas in the Gaza Strip or the PLO in Ramallah. Abbas told the Palestinian Council that Jews brought on the Holocaust with its history of rapacious lending practices, a common anti-Semitic refrain justifying violence against Jews in the centuries leading up to Adolf Hitler’s “Final Solution.”. Insisting Jews “social function” brought on the long history of anti-Semitism, Abbas spews the same vicious propaganda used by the Nazis to excuse gassing, burning, starving and exterminating an estimated 6 million European Jews during Hitler’s Third Reich.
Abbas proved he’s either demented or rabidly anti-Semitic saying that “history tells us there is no basis for the Jewish homeland,” calling Israel a European colonial intrusion into the Middle East. Abbas statements pander to bitterly anti-Semitic factions in Gaza’s Hamas leadership, preferring to destroy Israel rather than seek a two-state solution. While the United States and European Union want to put faith in Abbas as an honest peace broker, his Nazi-like speech proves he actually strives, like Hamas, to eradicate the Jewish State. United Nation’s Special Coordinator for Mideast Peace Nicholay Mladnov said Abbas repeats “some of the most contemptuous anti-Semitic slurs,” dating back to the Nazi’s vicious propaganda leading to the Holocaust. Coming from the Ramallah-based PLO leader, Abbas reveals his true sentiments about Israel and Mideast peacemaking.
Sparking condemnations from the U.S., U.N. and European Union, Abbas showed why there’s no active Mideast peace process. Abbas is consumed with Israel’s 70th anniversary to fathom his repugnant public remarks. “Leaders have an obligation to confront anti-Semitism everywhere and always not perpetuate the conspiracy theories that fuel it,” said Mladenov, referring to the Nazi propaganda giving rise to the Holocaust. Whether admitted to or not by Israel, Abbas’ anti-Semitic rant directly contradicts rogue states like Iran, insisting the Holocaust never took place. Iran denies the Holocaust, insisting its only a myth used by Zionists to justify the Jewish State in the heart of Islamic lands. “Denying the historic and religious connection of the Jewish people to the land and their holy sites in Jerusalem stands in contrast to reality,” said U.N’s Mldenov.
Abbas went ballistic after 71-year-old President Donald Trump said Dec. 23, 2017 that he recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, agreeing to move the U.S. embassy there at the earliest possible time. Abbas has been on an anti-Semitic rampage ever since, encouraging violent protests on Israel’s border. Palestinians talk about their “March of Return,” telling Gaza and West Bank residents to reclaim lost land after Israel declared its independence May 14, 1948. When the U.N. recognized Israel as a sovereign state May 11, 1949, it ended discussions over Palestinians and right of return. No U.N. sovereign state returns land to past residents simply because past claims to land ownership. If anything’s learned about Palestinian rights, it’s that they held not one inch of sovereign land prior to 1967 Six-Day-War, since the so-called occupied territories were held by Egypt, Jordan and Syria.
Since Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, Abbas has retreated to the “destroy Israel”camp, not one of Mideast peacemaking. Talking now about how the Jews brought on the Holocaust because of “social practices,” Abbas sees only more excuses for massacring Jews. Telling Gaza and West Bank residents to take back their land could not be more inflammatory. It was the British that transferred in 1948 their sovereign territory in the Holy Land, AKA the British Mandate of Palestine, to the new Israeli government. If the state were illegally seized territory, the U.N. would not have granted official recognition in 1949. Telling Gaza and West Bank residents to stream across the Israeli border shows how Hamas the PLO have only one mission to destroy the Jewish State. Abbas’ anti-Semitic rant shows that Hamas and the PLO are unified in their mission to destroy Israel.
Abbas’ anti-Semitic rant produced condemnations from many sources, including the United States. “Abu Mazen [Abbas] has reached a new low,” said U.S. Israeli Amb. David Freedman. “To all those who think Israel is the reason that we don’t have peace, think again,” blaming the PLO and Hamas for the collapse of the peace process. Abbas’ remarks “contained unacceptable remarks concerning the origins o the Holocaust and Israeli’s legitimacy,” said the EU. No one in the EU knows the horrors of Nazism more than German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Rogue states like Iran, North Korea and Gaza-based Hamas and Ramallah-based PLO like to use old Nazi propaganda to whip up anti-Semitism. EU, U.N. and U.S. officials expect Abbas to recant-and-apologize for his insensitive remarks or face the kind of ostracism that makes Mideast peace, including an independent Palestinian state, impossible.
