LOS ANGELES.–Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), 78, warns about 78-year-old President-elect Trump’s tariffs fueling higher prices and more inflation, another sour grapes act of resistance from Democrats and the press. What don’t Democrats and the press get about the Nov. 5 presidential elections? Voters gave Trump full confidence in implementing his program to reverse 82-year-old President Joe Biden and Democrats inflation and open border policies, now suddenly the fake press gives Blumenthal and other Democrats at voice to slam Trump two months before he’s in office. “I think that the president-elect has failed to really face practical consequences,” Blumenthal told fake new CNN host Kate Bolduan. How ironic that Bluementhal and CNN dish out advice after the election, when voters spoke loudly that they trust Trump to fix U.S. economic problems.
Blumenthal and Bolduan are no economists as the speculate what Trump is trying to do with tariffs with the largest U.S. trading partners, China, Mexico and Canada before he takes office Jan. 20, 2025. Blumenthal and CNN’s plan for America was rejected by voters Nov. 5, giving Trump a mandate to do whatever he thinks will fix the economy, the uncontrolled U.S. border and foreign wars raging out of control and depleting the U.S. Treasury. What was Blumenthal suggesting should be done about the raging inflation that watched prices over the last four years raise in some cases 100%. Americans that put gas in their cars and shop in grocery stores know the hardship suffered by ordinary people living hand-to-mouth, unable to make ends meet. Yet Blumenthal and CNN like to slam Trump when he’s not even in office, having no clue what Trump really plans to do.
Democrats and the corrupt U.S. press have every reason to be mad after Trump trounced them in the Nov. 5 election, enough to take the White House, Senate and House. Blumenthal now has Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), 63, as Senate Majority Leader Jan. 20, 2025 yet he wants to slam Trump on hypothetical grounds that his economic plans, which he knows nothing about, are going to cause more inflation. “I think he is heading toward a real horror show where the consequences can’t be squared with the promises he made,” Blumenthal said. “For example, slashing government spending at the same time as preserving Medicare and Medicaid,” said Blumenthal, throwing anything on the wall to make it stick. Blumenthal knows that Biden-Harris and Democrat policies caused the worst inflation in 40 years, flooding the country with illegal immigrants draining government entitlements.
Blumenthal and CNN pretend that an election never took place, instead dishing out advice on the airwaves that Trump has already caused more inflation. Blumenthal and Democrats know that Biden fueled the worst inflation in 40 years with his war in Ukraine that boycotted Russian oil. Once Biden installed his Russian oil embargo in March 2022, oil spiked around the globe, creating worldwide shortages and record prices. When you add energy shortages to all the trillions of dollars on post-Covid-19 spending, it was the perfect formula for inflation. Vice President Kamala Harris, Democrats and the press said inflation was due to corporate price gouging, the most absurd, off-the-wall excuse. Reputable economists on the both sides of the aisle told Biden-Harris that energy spikes caused the inflation that drove ordinary consumer goods through the roof.
Trump’s approach to tariffs is more psychological than anything else, trying to get China, Mexico and Canada to give the U.S. more favorable trading terms on a wide variety of imports to the United States. Trump said he would tariff Mexico and Canada 25% and China 10% for supplying the fentanyl and other drugs to the U.S. market. So, what’s wrong with Trump intimidating trading partners into stopping certain exports that feed the illicit drug trade? Blumenthal acts clueless but actually knows what Trump is trying to do yet feels inclined on fake news CNN to slam Trump. CNN’s prime time audience has lost 50% of its share since the Nov. 5 election, all because they lied through the 2024 campaign, pushing Kamala on American voters yet claiming they weren’t taking sides. Voters have caught on to CNN’s disinformation and propaganda and don’t like it.
Trump wants to stop the flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico and other Latin American countries, all coming through the porous Mexican border. “Both Mexico and Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this long simmering problem. We hereby demand that they use this power, and until such time that they do, it is time for them to pay a very big price,” Trump said on Truth social. Trump’s warnings to Mexico, Canada and China are designed to fuel cooperation on trade imbalances and border issues. Blumenthal has no clue what consequences any Trump policy has on consumer prices. “When the practical consequences are known to consumers and when they see higher prices of goods, knowing how they feel about inflation,” Blumenthal said, exposing his ignorance of trade and economics. Trump has a plan to reverse inflation and he’ll do it.
