LOS ANGELES.–Ukraine’s 46-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky continues to rant against 66-year-old German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for his last week’s call with 72-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelensky says the call opened up a “Pandora’s Box,” in trying to keep Putin isolated on the world stage. But in case Zelensky hasn’t noticed, Putin is isolated only in certain EU countries but the bulk of populations across the globe do not support the Ukraine War, seeking to doing business with Russia. Zelensky pretends that Putin doesn’t have his backers in China, India, North Korea, Iran, South Africa and Brazil, all not aligned with the U.S. and EU, turning into its own economic bloc called BRICS. Whether Zelensky pays any attention to global politics or not, the Ukraine War has divided countries into a new world order, and it’s not from the West.
Whatever is said in the West about the Ukraine War, the world’s largest economies don’t support Biden proxy war with the Kremlin. Biden decided he would toss out generations of U.s.-Russian diplomacy, détente and arms control, all to show support for Ukraine’s situation. President Joe Biden, 82, calls Putin’s Feb. 24, 2022 Ukraine invasion as “naked land grab,” but Putin had his military in Ukraine before the war in Crimea and Donbas, and, after any future settlement, will keep them in Ukraine to control NATO’s encroachment on the eastern most European countries. Chinese President Xi Jinping said that Biden pushed Putin to invade Feb. 24, 2022 because of encroaching on Russia’ national security. Xi said that Biden did the same thing in Asia trying to start a coalition of Indo-Pacific countries against China, including the Philippines and Japan.
Knowing he’ll be out of office in two months, Biden gave Zelensky the green light to start bombing Russia with U.S. ATACMs, long-range ballistic missile system capable of hitting near Moscow from the Kursk border region currently occupied by Ukraine. Biden knows that when Trump takes over Jan. 20, 2025, he won’t continue his blank check policy of supporting war with the Kremlin. Trump wants to mitigate the prospects or WW III or nuclear war by ending the Ukraine War through negotiation. Yet Biden, with only two months left, gives Zelensky the green light to strike deep inside Russia. Biden had a change of heart not because of the Ukraine battlefield with 10,000 North Korean troops but because Vice President Kamala Harris was blown out on Nov. 5. Biden said he would have been the best candidate to run against Trump, something his Party rejected.
Biden plans to give Ukraine the $6 billion left in Congressional allocation before leaving office in January. If Biden was so incensed about North Korea sending 10,000 troops to help push Ukraine out of the Russian Kursk border region, why doesn’t he commit U.S. troops to helping Ukraine maintain its territory? Ukraine has wanted U.S. and NATO troops from the beginning but has been told “no” because of possible escalation into WW III. Zelensky has no problem with escalation, he welcomes it especially if he keeps getting billions in U.S. aid to fund the war with the Kremlin. Trump said Zelensky is one of the great salesmen, getting billions from Congress telling them that war-battered Ukraine defends European security. Surly, Zelensky knows that only NATO defends European security. Ukraine can’ defend itself let alone European democracy.
Zelensky doesn’t think Putin wants peace only to prolong the war until he takes over Kiev. “I don’t think Putin wants peace at all,” Zelensky said. “But this does not mean that he does not want to sit down with one of the leaders.” Zelensky made clear that the only condition to start peace talks is when Putin agrees to remove all his troops from Ukrainian sovereign territory, including Crimea. So, when Zelensky talks of peace, he wants Putin to agree to his 10-point peace plan that has Putin prosecuted at The Hague for war crimes and Russia paying reparations to the Kiev government. Zelensky accuses Putin of not wanting peace because he won’t agree to Zelensky’s unrealistic conditions. If Zelensky go his way, Putin would be sitting in jail, facing life in prison. Zelensky has intimidated at EU members, like Hungary’s 61-year-old Prime Minister Viktor Orban, for offering peace plans.
Zelensky doesn’t get that Putin isn’t isolated by anyone other than the U.S. and EU countries, a strategy that backfired on Biden. Biden hoped to slap Putin with the most punitive economic sanctions in history to get him to pull his troops from Ukraine. Biden’s strategy backfired, leaving Putin with more friends than ever backing his oil-and-gas sales but, more importantly, his position that the West has it in for him. Zelensky pretends that Putin is “isolated” when, in fact, he has a big following in China, India and the whole BRICS economic bloc, adding members by the day. Once Trump gets in office, Zelensky will be forced to go to the peace table to resolve the conflict. Nothing will happen until Zelensky realizes that only negotiation and compromise can solve the Ukraine conflict. Biden couldn’t isolate Putin because Russia has longstanding business and security ties.
