LOS ANGELES.–Ukraine War chief cheerleader National Security Spokesman John Kirby warned Congress that money for the Ukraine War is about to run out, pushing the $61 billion funding bill now hung up in Congress over boarder security. Kirby failed to mention that the Pentagon still has $4.4 billion left in the budget or about the $110 million that 81-year-old President Joe Biden gave to Ukraine’s 45-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky when he begged Congress for more cash last week. Speaking in Kiev for a year-end message, Zelensky sounded optimistic that the U.S. would come through with more case. “I’m certain that U.S. won’t betray us—and what has been agreed upon will be fulfilled,” Zelensky said. Imagine that, Zelensky thinks he’s entitled to all the U.S. taxpayer cash to fund his bankrupt government war with the Kremlin, something that’s dragged on for nearly two years.

Over the past 22 months, Zelensky has asked and received all the cash he needed to run his bankrupt government and wage war against the Kremlin, giving a litany of excuses, all designed to solicit more cash from the U.S. Treasury. When Russia invaded Feb. 24, 2022, Zelensky had a choice offered by Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the conflict through negotiation for independence of Donetsk and Luhansk and Russian sovereignty over Crimea. Zelensky opted for war against the Kremlin saying Ukraine would fight to the last drop of blood to oust Russia from Ukraine’s sovereign territory. Zelensky managed to drag Biden into his conflict with Moscow, ending decades of diplomacy, détente and arms control, turning the U.S. and Russia into mortal enemies. Now Zelensky says he’s certain the U.S. would not
“betray” Ukraine.

Biden and Zelensky have duped Congress into thinking that if the U.S. didn’t fund the Ukraine War, Putin would march to take over NATO countries. Zelensky has told Congress and the European Parliament that Ukraine is the battle line to protect European democracy. What could be more preposterous than bankrupt and war-torn Ukraine defends European democracy? Biden and Zelensky know that NATO, not Ukraine, defends European democracy against any outside intrusion. Zelensky has badgered NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg for years about fast-track NATO membership, hoping to let NATO help in his war against the Kremlin. But Stoltenberg made it clear that NATO has no interest under Article 5, mutual defense provision, to fight Ukraine’s battles. Yet, can you imagine Zelensky and Biden try to sell the EU on the idea that Ukraine defends European democracy?

Kirby’s job is to blow more smoke to Congress to get the $61 billion to keep the failed Ukraine War going for as long as possible. Zelensky needs the cash primarily to run his bankrupt government, unable to pay his own salary, let alone anyone else. Yet, if you listen to Zelensky, he thinks after the U.S. has already spent nearly $200 billion on Ukraine, he hopes the U.S. would not “betray” Ukraine. What nerve of Zelensky thinking the U.S. has no right to move in a different direction based on conditions in the United States. What benefit does the U.S. get from destroying decades of cooperative relations with the Kremlin? Zelensky chose war over negotiation to end the conflict, all because he has a vendetta with Putin, seeking to get the world to condemn the Russian president. Biden, too, played into Zelensky’s hands, turning the U.S. and Russia into mortal enemies.

Democrats and Republicans continue to support the Ukraine War, despite the drain on the U.S. Treasury. For whatever reason, Congress forgot the importance to continuing cooperative relations with the Russian Federation, something U.S. presidents made a major part of U.S. foreign policy for decades until Biden. Biden let Zelensky rope him into a bloody, unending war with the Kremlin. Zelensky promised Biden with U.S. cash-and-weapons he could drive Russia from Ukraine, something that hasn’t panned out. Zelensky does everything to hide Ukrainian casualties, focusing instead on losses to the Russian Federation. Recent reports by Ukrainian soldiers from the battlefield east of the Dniper River indicate that Zelensky has grossly exaggerated Ukrainian victories. Biden can’t admit before the 2024 election that the war has become a undeniable failure.

Kirby continues to sell the Ukraine War as in the best interests of the United States.
“Ukraine still needs our help,” Kirby said. “And it’s well past time for Congress to act, to stand up for freedom and democracy, and defense of our own national security interests which are very much at play here,” spewing as much propaganda as Zelensky. Kirby and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin know that the war has failed to dislodge Russia, instead has Russia dug in to more Ukrainian territory. Biden and Zelensky have both been told by their generals that there is no military solution in Ukraine. Zelensky was told recently by his chief Gen. Valery Zaluznhy that the Ukraine was a ‘stalemate,” prompting denunciations by Zelensky’s inner circle. Congress needs to know the facts, not Kirby’s smoke blowing, pushing a war that harms U.S. foreign policy and national security.
