LOS ANGELES.–Rarely, if ever, does the U.S. get factual information about the Ukraine War. Whether it’s from the White House or Kiev, the same disinformation spews with the exact same message: Ukraine is winning the war. Nothing could be further from the truth, with all the reports from the White House and Kiev about Russian President Vladimir Putin suffering from a terminal illness or, even more outrageous, that the Russian military is near collapse. Ukraine’s 45-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky has been blowing smoke about his vaunted counteroffensive, something he promised would show real results against the Russian military. Only rarely does someone like former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of State Gen. Mark Miley tell the truth that the war won’t be won on the battlefield but at the peace table. Zelensky thinks that any contradictory news hurts his pleas for more cash-and-arms.

Zelensky has been proven wrong on almost everything since the war began Feb. 24, 2022, promising, with U.S. help, he would drive the Russian Federation out of Ukraine. Russian Federation troops were in Ukraine before the Feb. 24 invasion, and will be there long after any ceasefire and peace settlement. President Joe Biden, 80, has bee equally guilty as Zelensky, misleading Congress and the American public about what he’s trying to accomplish in Ukraine. Biden did the unthinkable with Zelensky’s pressure to fund a proxy war against the Kremlin. Biden single-handedly upended decades of U.S.-Russian relations, all to pander to Zelensky’s obsession with Putin. Zelensky begged NATO for membership for months before the invasion. Before Putin’s invasion, Zelensky kept getting copious arms-and-cash from Biden, provoking Putin to launch his Feb. 24, 2022 invasion.

Ukrainian Gen. Valery Zaluzhnyy admitted to The Economist that the Ukraine War was stalemated, no matter how much cash-and-weapons Ukraine receives. Zelensky is fit-to-be-tied, furious for anyone running counter to his fake narrative that Ukraine needs just a few more billions, now asking for $60 billion, as its next installment. Biden has anti-Russian war hawks inc Congress buffaloed, repeating Zelensky’s rubbish that without the Ukraine War Putin would march on Europe. Zelensky actually told Congress with a straight face that Ukraine is not a charity case but an investment in European democracy. Biden has repeated Zelensky’s nonsense, using Zelensky’s exact talking point to sell the war, asking Congress for billions more. Some conservatives in Congress have wised up to Bidien and Zelensky’s rubbish about Ukraine. Some like Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) see that Biden has no plan at all.

Putin has shown great reluctance to move his military against any NATO country. Putin invaded Ukraine precisely because Ukraine was not a NATO member, avoiding Article 5 that would trigger the mutual defense clause. “That naturally raises the question: What exactly is our endgame strategy?” asked Hawley. “What’s the plan here?” “I don’t think they have a plan,” Hawley said, realizing, unlike his colleagues, that Biden has sold a bill of goods to Congress. Gen. Zaluzhnyy’s admission that the war with Russia is stalemated runs counter to all of Zelensky promises, that all he needs is more cash-and-arms to defeat the Russia. New York Times and Washington Post have played right along with Biden, writing countless stories about Uksrine’s undeniable progress, all with Ukrainian disinformation and propaganda, talking about how much land Ukraine recaptured.

Zelensky’s 20 months of war lost some 25% of Ukraine’s sovereign territory, almost the entire Black Sea coast and all its strategic ports. Zelensky has been playing catch-up but knows that he playing with House money, unable to make significant progress in reclaiming sovereign territory. Congress and the public have a right to know the real story on Ukraine, how it wrecked decades of U.S.-Russian diplomacy, détente, global cooperation and arms control. Biden wants to continue this blank check to Ukraine, knowing that Ukraine makes no real progress. All the fake talk about Putin’s health or Russian military failures are undermined by the undeniable facts on the ground, showing that Ukraine has made nor real progress. Zelensky keeps asking for more cash because his government is bankrupt, requiring U.S. taxpayers to pay his salary, civil servants and government pensions.

Biden refuses only a year out from the 2024 election to admit Ukarine failure. Spending nearly $200 billion on Ukraine has gotten nowhere. No one in the U.S. governments knows what’s happened with all the cash given to Zelensky. “This was always going to end with Russian controlling some Ukrainian territory and a negotiated settlement. I’ve been saying it for a year. It was obvious to anybody who paid attention to realities on the ground,” said Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio.). Why does it take a Ukrainian general to tell the U.S. that the war is stalemated, going nowhere? What happened to all of Biden and Zelensky’s promises about defeating Putin? Both have told Congress that if Ukraine loses, it’s the end of democracy in Europe. With rubbish like that, it’s no wonder that Biden continues to deplete the U.S. Treasury, drive up the 2023 federal budget deficit and explode the national debt.
