When 53-year-old Hunter Biden’s plea deal collapsed Aug. 14, it raised concerns about preferential treatment as 80-year-old President Joe Biden’s son. Hunter was charged wit lying on a federal gun applications checking a box saying he was not a drug addict while purchasing a firearm. Hunter’s plea deal collapsed because Hunter’s attorneys played hard-ball with U.S. Atty. David Weiss. Weiss was appointed Aug. 11 by Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland, giving him broader authority to investigate Hunter’s gun and income tax evasion charges in 2017 and 2018. Republicans claimed foul before Weiss certified a plea deal trading probation for two felony guilty pleas on federal gun charges. Hunter’s bigger problem stems for his overseas business deals with his 74-year-old uncle Jim, brother to Joe Biden. Jim and Hunter traded on Joe Biden’s brand to make millions in several foreign countries.

Whatever the gun charges on Hunter, they’re small potatoes compared to the millions made by Hunter and Jim in their overseas business deals. IRS looks like it’s only going after $4 million in income in 2017 and 2018, the some $40 million Hunter and Jim siphoned from foreign governments, with the overseas cash gone unaccounted for because of a series of secret corporations and bank accounts. Announcing an impeachment inquiry Sept. 12, 58-year-old House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) drew condemnation from Democrats and the press, claiming Republicans have no evidence that President Biden did anything wrong. When House Democrats and press backing Trump’s impeachment in 2019 for a the phone call with Ukraine’s 45-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky, no one asked for proof on anything. McCarthy’s impeachment inquiry met fierce opposition.

Democrats like former President Bill Clinton chief strategist James Carville welcome McCarthy’s impeachment inquiry, saying it would only weaken the GOP chances in 2024. Democrats and the press demand all the facts now on Biden impeachment, knowing that House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) have only begun to investigate. Jordan and Comer believe they have plenty of probable cause to open up an impeachment investigation. White House officials sent a notice to liberal newspapers, magazines and broadcast editors to challenge GOP assertions made in impeachment inquiry. If Carville thought there was nothing there, why would the White House go to such great lengths to defend Biden? Today’s Hunter indictment only lends credibility to GOP’s questions that Joe was involved in Hunter and brother Jim’s overseas deals.

Charging Hunter today with two counts of making false statements on a federal gun application are actually inconsequential compared to the some $40 million in cashed raked in by Hunter and Jim. How Joe was paid off is anyone’s guess that’s part of investigation into Joe’s link to Hunter and Jim’s foreign transactions. Comer called today’s weapons charges by Weiss “a very small start.” Comer wants the Justice Department to pursue Republican claims that Joe was involved with Hunter’s foreign business deals. “It will be clear President Biden’s DOJ is protecting Hunter and the “Big Guy,” a reference to Joe Biden in Hunter’s emails. Jordan and Comer want to understand Joe’s obsession with Ukraine, something former President Donald Trump said was based on corruption. Trump was impeached by House Democrats for asking Zelensky if he had dirt on Joe and his son Hunter.

How ironic that Biden got the U.S. into a proxy war against the Kremlin to defends Ukraine after the Feb. 24, 2022 Russian invasion. Biden insists he funds the Ukraine proxy war against the Kremlin to defend European democracy. But everyone knows that bankrupt and war-ravage Ukraine is in no position to defend Europe. That’s the job of NATO, not Ukraine.. So, it begs the question of what the U.S. is doing funding a proxy war against the Kremlin. Biden’s proxy war ended decades of diplomacy, détente and arms control with Russia. Jordan and Comer have evidence the Biden family made millions from corrupt Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings. Hunter worked with his former business partner Devon Archer on Burisma’s board, making the two $5 million each. With that kind of corruption, why are Democrats so sure Joe did nothing wrong?

Jordan and Comer have a long way to go to investigate Joe Biden’s connection to Hunter and Jim Biden’s overseas business deals. Whether Jordan and Comer can get enough evidence or stonewalling from the Biden camp is anyone’s guess. Democrats and the press will run as much resistance to defend Joe as possible while he pursues a second term. If Jordan and Comer can turn off enough independents, it’s possible to upend Joe’s reelection effort. Rpublicans will have to find a suitable candidate to present a real option in 2024, most likely not Trump with all his baggage. Polls show Democrats and independents ready for a change in 2024 but only with the right candidate. Polls show that Democrats, Republicans and independents ready for a change in 2024. But those same polls show that voters are reluctant to turn back the clock in 2024, needing new leadership this time around.
