Internet entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, 38, showed at the Aug. 24 Fox News debate why he’s not fit for primetime. Ramaswamy had plenty of energy but his post-debate fallout showed that he lost at least tree percentage points, now standing at about 5%. Ramaswamy went backward especially giving interviews thinking he was riding high from the debate, not realizing that the more he talks, the less he makes sense. Ramaswamy said he has a plan to stop the Russian-Chinese alliance, something he thinks he can get Putin to break off relations with China. Telling Putin he’ll cede land to Russia in Ukraine if he agrees to end his alliance with China is preposterous. Putin’s close ties to China stems from 80-year-old President Joe Biden waging proxy war against the Russian Federation. Putin’s ties to China directly relate to China also feel persecuted by the United States.

Ramaswamy based his campaign on former President Donald Trump, openly saying he’s an America First politician. Asked about his distinction with other GOP candidates, Ramaswamy said he’s not a Neocon or war hawk seeking to resolve conflicts especially with the Russian Federation by military means. Ramasway calls former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former U.N. Amb. Nikki Haley and former Vice President Mike Pence Neocons, designating their war hawk status. Only former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis oppose the Ukraine War, primarily because it squanders the U.S. Treasury at the expense of U.S. foreign policy. Ramawamy is correct to believe that war can’t solve the dispute between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Only peace talks can stop the carnage and destruction in Ukraine. Ramaswamy pretends that Putin would listen to him.

Ramaswamy is correct that anti-Russian hysteria has swept Capitol Hill, leaving the country divided about what to do in Ukraine. Bidn staked his presidency on supply Ukraine cash and weapon systems to battle the Kremlin. Ramaswamy want to restore diplomatic relations with Moscow while Biden wages war against the Kremlin. “A real distinction, I think, is that I’m the only candidate who is a non-Neocon, Ramaswamy said. “I believe in asserting American interests, but only where it advance the U.S. interest. I’m very different from other candidates who would sooner send troops in to defend invasion across somebody else’s border than the invasion on our own southern border in this country,” Ramaswamy said, repeating Trump’s talking points. Ramaswamy has lost ground, despite his strong debate performance, because his statements about Putin make no sense.

When Ramaswamy talks about Neocons, he’s on to something no matter how irrational his position on Putin. Ramaswamy isn’t going to talk Putin out of his relations with China, largely because Chinese President Xi Jimping doesn’t trust Biden to stop his warmongering in China. When Biden said Sept. 23, 2022 that he would commit U.S. troop to defend Taiwan, Xi concluded he breached the 1979 Taiwan Relations Act, ending the 1954 Sino-American Mutual Defense Treaty. From that day on, Putin and Xi formed a tight military, economic and strategic alliance. “I worry that many in the Neocon establishment are quietly march us into WW III, serious armed conflict with other nuclear powers, including the combination of the Russia-China alliance. Ramswamy doesn’t get the alliance goes both ways and the only way to mitigate the alliance is by better U.S. relations.

When it comes to U.S.-Russian relations there’s nothing magical Biden has to do to begin the slow climb back to normal relations. Biden must end the Ukraine proxy war against the Russia Federation, telling Putin that he’ll negotiate a new security arrangement with Ukraine. Ramswamy says he’d cede Ukrainian territory to Russia, something that already been done since March 1, 2024 when Putin annexed Crimea. Ramawamy doesn’t get that he can’t talk Putin out his relationship with China, any more that Putin can talks the U.S. out of its relationship to NATO. Ending the Ukraine War and starting to patch together a new relationship to the Kremlin is the only wary to mend fences. Biden’s continued support of the Ukraine proxy war against the Kremlin prevents any improvement in U.S.-Russian relaltions. Ramaswamy doesn’t get what must happen to improve U.S.-Russian ties.

Ramaswamy started with a bang at the Aug. 24 GOP debate but has started to fizzle now that he’s been trying to clean up some of his erratic statements. None of his post-debate statements make less sense that saying he would talk Putin out of his relationship or alliance with Communist China. Only an end to the Ukraine War with Biden starting to repair damage to U.S.-Russian relations would make any sense. Putin closely aligns with China, because both countries feel gaslighted by the United States. “I’m 38-year-old. I have fresh legs,” Ramaswamy said. That’s exactly why Ramaswamy has begun to lose ground. Voters don’t trust his youth-and-inexperience, not saying Biden’s geriatric problems don’t make him vulnerable to reelection. When Ramaswamy made his crazy remarks about Putin, it reminded voters that he’s not ready for primetime let alone a VP pick.
