Touting NATO’s 30-member, soon to be 32-member with Sweden and Finland, strength, 79-year-old President Joe Biden diverted the ugly reality expressed by his 52-year-old Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines who said yesterday that the situation in Ukraine looks “very bleak.” So whatever Biden touts about NATO, national security experts understand that U.S. national security has been sharply degraded because of losing Russia and China as global partners. Since he came to power, Biden has offended both countries, accusing both of human rights abuses, especially China where he accused Chinese President Xi Jinping of genocide on Muslim Uyghurs in Western China. Biden does much better calling Putin as “soulless killer” March 18, 2021, setting a bad tone for U.S. foreign policy. Whether admitted to or not, the U.S. is in the worst national security space since the end of WW II.
Biden’s running away from his 38% aggregate approval rating, the worst in modern history, since the media made sure with persistent anti-Trump bias that the former present would never have good ratings. But with the U.S. media backing Biden, the 38% aggregate approval rating reflects the widespread discontent with Biden’s domestic and foreign policy. Biden’s Ukraine War has fueled the worst inflation in 40 years invoking comparisons to former President Jimmy Carter, where runaway inflation practically destroyed the U.S. economy. Biden said at a NATO summit in Madrid that Putin wanted to weaken NATO, the same statement he made of former President Donald Trump. Trump pressured NATO countries to pony up 2% of their Gross Domestic Product for defense, something only recently happening. But Biden has no real accomplishment to point to now.
When it comes to adding Sweden and Finland to NATO, Biden says it’s exactly the opposite of what Putin wanted. Putin has no problem with either country joining NATO as long as they don’t change their defense posture toward the Russian Federation. Biden touts NATO because he’s lost solid foreign relations with the BRICS economic alliance, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa and possibly Iran. Biden tried to destroy the Russian economy with a series of punitive economic sanctions only to find that Putin found other places to sell Russian oil and natural gas. When German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced Feb. 22 a freeze on the Nordstream 2 pipeline between Russia and Germany, Putin found other buyers for his natural gas. While the Kremlin doesn’t like to lose any business, Moscow continues to sell its oil and natural gas into world markets.
As Haines pointed out, the situation in Ukraine is “very bleak,” meaning that Ukraine has lost some 25% of its sovereign territory to the Russian Federation since the war began Feb. 24. Biden and Ukraine’s 45-year-old neophyte President Volodymyr Zelensky can’t admit they’ve lost the war with Putin, losing the entire Black Sea coast and all of Ukraine’s ports. So Biden likes to focus on how he’s a big fan of NATO while he’s destroyed essential U.S. relations with Russia and China. “Putin thought he could break the transatlantic alliance,” Biden said, sounding senile. Putin has no interest in breaking NATO, he wants Biden to stop supplying Ukraine unlimited lethal weapons to battle the Russian Federation. Putin understands, as does the Kremlin, that the War in Ukraine, is not between Kiev and Moscow. It’s between Washington and Moscow, setting up the reckless confrontation.
Biden raises such nonsense at the NATO summit about Putin the enemy of NATO to hide from the abysmal failure in Ukraine. Everyday that goes by, Ukraine loses more strategic sovereign territory, demanding more lethal weapons from the U.S. and NATO. If Zelensky had his way, the U.S. and NATO would be fighting WW III on the European Continent, sucking in all 32 NATO countries into a useless, totally avoidable war. Don’t forget that Biden and Zelensky justify the war against the Russian Federation as one of stopping Putin from advancing to conquer more NATO countries. What could be more preposterous? Putin has a problem with the U.S. and NATO supplying unlimited lethal arms to Ukraine, essentially turning Ukraine into a puppet U.S. state on the Russian border. If the U.S. or European Union wants the war to stop, they know exactly what to do: Stop supplying Ukraine weapons.
Biden’s 38% approval rating tells the whole story about how he’s failing in domestic and foreign policy. Publicity stunts to Saudi Arabia or grandstanding at NATO summits doesn’t change what Haines said that the situation in Ukraine is “very bleak.” Biden repeated the same mistake in Ukraine that he did while Obama’s VP in Syria, funding a proxy war to take down Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Obama and Biden’s proxy war in Syria failed just like the one in Ukraine. Unlike Syria, Biden’s Ukraine war is bankrupting the U.S. economy, driving markets into a tailspin and creating the worst inflation in 40 years. With all the Russian hatred on Capitol Hill it’s likely to go on until there’s a change in leadership. It’s hard to believe Biden has any support for what he’s doing in Ukraine. Taking on the Russian Federation was a colossal miscalculation and mistake.
