French President Emmanuel Macron, 44, took Ukraine diplomacy into his own hands meeting today at the Kremlin with 69-year-old President Vladimir Putin, looking eye-to-eye getting above the Russian hysteria coming from U.S. President Joe Biden. Biden, feuding with Putin since taking office Jan. 20, 2021, wrecking U.S.-Russian relations for absolutely no reason. Biden, his 59-year-old Secretary of State Antony Blinken and 45-uyear-old National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan have whipped up Russian hysteria, telling the world that a Russian invasion of Ukraine was “imminent.” Biden let 43-year-old Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky dupe him into thinking an invasion was “imminent,” getting Biden to fall into the trap of supplying Ukraine offensive and defensive weapons next to the Russian Federation border. Putin bristled at the U.S. and NATO response.
Macron, who faces reelection April 10 against 53-year-old National Party candidate Marine Le Pen, showed the kind of statesmanship with Putin that tells French voters why they should give him a second term. Facing Putin, Macron showed the kind of humanity—and humility—that made an impression of Putin, realizing that his beef with Biden must be put aside for the good of the Russian Federation. “A number of his [Macron’s] ideas, proposals, which are potentially still to early to talk about. I think it is quite possible to make the basis for of our further joints steps,” Putin said. Macron’s meeting with Putin should send a loud message to European Council President Ursula van der Leyen and European Commission President Charles Michel, that the time to take over from Biden is long overdue. Biden and his national security teamhave done nothing but throw gasoline on the fire.
Macron no doubts lets Putin know that he disagrees with Biden and NATO’s approach to supplying Ukraine with offensive and defensive weapons. U.S. and NATO officials assume that because Putin has staged war games inside Russia on the Ukrainian border that he’s ready to invade. Whatever the problems with U.S. intel, it’s clear that little has changed since 2003 when former Secretary of State Colin Powell sold the U.N. Security Council on Iraq’s dictator Saddam Hussein possessing dangerous weapons of mass destruction. U.S. officials, after toppling Hussein, admitted to finding no weapons of mass destruction, starting a war without proper probable cause. Macron probably discussed with Putin plans of equalizing NATO aggressive stance in Eastern Europe, presenting problems for Russia’s national security. Biden has ignored Putin’s concerns about Ukraine and NATO’s behavior.
Macron met with Putin one-on-one something Biden can’t do without going off a prepared script. While Democrats don’t admit that Joe’s cognitive problems leave his unfit for duty, it’s clear he can’t talk to a world leader without going off a script. Macron, at 44, proves why it’s essential that a new generation of American leadership take over because it’s time for the elders to step aside. Talk of Biden running again in 2024 is outrageous, considering he has an aggregate 40.9 approval rating. It’s clear that both sides of the aisle, young and old, recognize that Biden’s not up for the job. Macron showed today that Putin is not an unreasonable person, only wants the U.S. and NATO to stop stepping on Russian’s national security. Putin said today in a joint press conference with Macron that a number of his ideas about Russian and European security made a lot of sense and should be pursued.
Biden wouldn’t dare meet with Putin because he holds such preconceived notions that it’s impossible for both leaders to reach any consensus. But Macron, on the other hand, operates independently, has more clout with the European Union and reflects the concerns of the vast majority on the Continent. “We have agreed that after his trip to the Ukrainian capital we well call each other again and exchange views on this matter,” Putin said, offering the first inkling of anything positive. If you listen to the White House, it’s all doom-and-gloom, more sanctions, no real dialogue between Washington and Moscow. Putin met Feb. 3 with 58-year-old Hungarian President Viktor Orban who also expressed optimism that things were moving in the right direction. If you listen to the White House a Ukraine invasion is “imminent,” despite the fact that Putin said it’s not in the cards.
Macron proved today that Putin’s more than ready-and-willing to discus concrete steps to improve EU and Russian security. Whatever troop build-up Putin has near the Ukrainian border in Easter Ukraine or Belarus, hit intent is to send the U.S. and NATO a strong message to stop turning Ukraine into an armed camp. When you consider all the weapons shipped to Ukraine, it’s no wonder Putin has some concerns, especially about his naval base in Crimea. Putin seized Crimea March 1, 2014 after a Feb/ 22. 2014 CIA coup toppled the Kremlin-backed government of Viktor Yanukovych. Not one Western nation or news agency admits that Putin invaded Crimea only after the CIA-backed coup threatened his Sevastopol naval base. All Western officials and the press talk about is Russian aggression. Well, Macron has seen firsthand that the real aggression comes from the Biden White House, not from Putin.
