Rejecting all of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s demands for legal guarantees about preventing Ukraine’s NATO membership and more encroachment in Eastern Europe, 79-year-old President Joe Biden played hardball, refused to find a settlement with good faith. Today’s Russian hysteria on Capitol Hill has gone over the top, where Putin is blamed for everything but the kitchen sink. Biden created a crisis in Ukraine, buying into 43-year-old Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky constant demands for NATO membership, something that irks Putin. When it comes to Biden’s commitment to peace on the European Continent, he’s forgotten the key principle in preserving the peace after the 20th century’s two genocidal wars, WW I and WW II where some 100 million world citizens perished, largely in Europe. Where’s Biden’s awareness while he plays a dangerous game of chicken with Putin?
Biden has played into the Ukraine crisis, something largely manufactured by Zelensky, actually looking to join a NATO war against the Russian Federation with the intent to returning Crimea to Ukraine. Biden’s approach to Putin is to blame him for the escalation in tensions all because he’s massed some 100,000 troops inside Russia near the Ukrainian border. Putin and his acolytes have emphatically denied that they plan to invade Ukraine.. Yet if you listen to Zelensky and Biden there’s a strange disconnect between the two, with Biden saying an invasion is “imminent.” Zelensky didn’t like when Biden ordered the State Department to start evacuating diplomatic personnel from the U.S. embassy in Kiev. Zelensky called Biden’s actions “premature,” downplaying any possible Russian invasion. It’s the disconnect that proves that any Russian invasion is pure U.S. propaganda.
Whatever the situation in Ukraine, Biden should be guided by the principle that “peace is the highest aspiration of the American people. We will negotiate for it, sacrifice for it; We will not surrender for it, now or ever. We are Americans,” Reagan said in his Jan. 20, 1981 inaugural address. Biden has only shown bluster, threatening Putin with crippling economic sanctions, when he’s done nothing to show he plans to take one inch of Ukrainian territory. So where’s all the classified intel reports and news stories about an “imminent” Russian invasion? U.S. and Ukrainian officials have manufactured the Russian invasion scenario, all to rally military support behind Ukraine. Biden went so far last week to say a Russian invasion was imminent, prompting panic in Kiev’s streets. Zelensky tried to correct the record that talk of Russian invasion was “premature,” asking citizens to settle down.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today that the Kremlin would take its time trying to process the American response to Putin’s demands. But based on an early read of the situation, it looks to Peskov, like the American side has not taken Putin’s demands seriously. When you consider the political game-playing in the U.S., no American politician can take a balanced approach when it comes to Russia. Trump was accused of treason for complimenting Putin or Chinese President Xi Jinping. Today’s sick U.S. politics has politicians supporting Biden’s madness of confronting the Russian Federation over Ukraine, a country without any national security significance to the United States. Fox News host Tucker Carlson, the most highly rated news host in Cable or Network news, says that Biden’s policy in Ukraine, pushing the world to the brink, is sheer madness.
Democrat-leaning news networks slam Carlson to questioning Biden’s Ukraine policy, but, most certainly, his policy toward Putin and the Russian Federation. Democrats make anything short of backing war on the European Continent an act of treason. Carlson is routinely trashed for questioning what possible national security significance Ukraine has for the U.S. If you listen to mainstream press, you’d think they’re pressing for new war on the European Continent. Biden thinks he has the backing of the European Union but the truth is that no one in Brussels wants to pick a fight with Putin and the Russian Federation. It’s easy for Biden to create conditions for war in Europe without considering the fallout on all Europeans. Germany has been trashed by Ukraine and Democrats in the U.S. for not sending lethal weapons to Ukraine to defend against a potential Russian invasion.
If “peace is the highest aspiration of the American people, Biden has done a poor job of compromising with Putin and the Russian Federation. Rejecting all of Putin requests won’t play well with the Kremlin, knowing that American side refuses to come to the table. “Based on what our colleagues said yesterday it’s absolutely clear that on the main categories outlined in those draft documents . . . we cannot say that our thoughts have been taken into account or that a willingness has been show to take our concerns into account,” Peskov said, noting the matter would be escalated to Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Putin. Instead to taking Putin’s concerns seriously about a NATO encroachment in Ukraine close to the Russian border, Biden has increased the prospects for war on the European Continent. Lawmakers in Brussels are taking a close look at U.S. provocation.
