Throwing in his two cents about a special election the Texas’ sixth district, 74-year-old former President George W. Bush said that if Republicans want to be extinct, they’ll continue to follow 74-year-old former President Donald Trump. Bush’s family despised Trump since he ran against the former President Bush’s 68-year-old brother Jeb who was blown out by Trump in 2016. Bush’s family feud with Trump stemmed from criticism over the Iraq War, Trump called a “real beaut,” referring to the costly disaster AKA the Iraq War. Now promoting a new book about immigrant stories, Bush warned 23 candidates for the late Rep. Ron Wright’s seat, that following Trump would be a big mistake for the GOP. Trump backs Susan Wright, Ron’s widow, for the seat. Speaking on an anti-Trump conservative podcast, Bush warned against Trump’s plan for a caucus promoting “Anglo-Saxon” traditions.

Bush has bought Biden’s White House emphasis on promoting Black and Latino causes, leaving “Anglo-Saxon” issues in the dust. Bush said Trump plan for an “Anglo-Saxon” caucus would destroy the GOP. “To me that basically saya that we want to be extinct,” Bush said, agreeing more with 78-year-old President Joe Biden’s ruling elites that are promoting minority causes, including reparations for African Americans. Bush responded on the podcast to a April 30 CCN poll indicating that 70% of the GOP think Biden did not win the election legitimately, something the press calls pure fabrication by Trump and his followers. Bush doesn’t think that fraud had anything to do with Biden’s Nov. 3, 2020 defeat of Trump by some 7 million popular votes, beating him in the Electoral College 306-236. Bush thinks if Trump still holds sway with the GOP there will be no party in the future.

Bush makes spurious claims that for the GOP to remain viable, it must compete with the Democrat Party for Black and Latino votes. ”There’s not going to be a party. I mean, I read about that and I’m saying to myself, ‘Wow, these people need to ready my book.’ And I mean, it’s like saying when I was running or governor of Texas, you’ll never get any Latino votes because you’re a Republican. And I said, you watch. And I worked hard,” Bush said. Bush thinks the GOP must go after Blacks and Latinos the same way Democrats do, promising reparations and more cash to African American and Latino communities. But if Bush really analyzes what he’s saying, it’s a complete fallacy that the GOP can compete with Democrats for Black and Latino votes. Bush, whose been out of politics since 2009, knows that things have changed since the days he ran for Texas governor in 1995.

Trump-hating Republicans like Bush don’t see that trying to compete with Democrats for Black and Latino votes is an exercise in futility because the media demonizes Republicans, turning the government now into one-party rule. Because there’s no compromise with Democrats, Biden has pushed through all his radical proposals including the Green New Deal, promising more green energy jobs in the future while dismantling the American fossil fuel industry. Gas prices have gone up about 30% since Biden took office in the last 100 days. Energy prices continue to rise because the Biden administration is loading the fossil fuel industry with more burdensome taxes and regulations, while promising more green energy jobs in the future. When you look at how Biden pays for all his vast green energy, social justice and infrastructure plan it all spells higher taxes.

Republicans only hope or the 2020 Midterm elections is that Wall Street eventually rebels against Biden’s punitive tax proposals, prompting financial markets to correct for expected lower profit margins and earnings. With all the new regulations and taxes, it’s a matter of time before Wall Street figures out how to survive in Biden’s new regulatory and tax environment. Bush is kidding himself thinking that Republicans can woo Democrats to the Republican Party, simply by showing a new openness and political prescriptions for minorities. If the GOP entices minorities to the party, it will be because it offers less taxes and regulation and more freedom for individuals to succeed in today’s America. Republicans must show new voters that following the Democrat formula of bigger government, more taxes and regulations leads to failure for all people looking to advance themselves.

Republicans best chance in future elections is guaranteeing more freedom, more opportunity and more prosperity in the future. If Biden’s economy continues to boom, there’s little chance that the GOP will be able to make the argument to switch horses in the 2022 Midterm elections. If the economy starts to sputter under the weight of Biden’s economic plan, then Republicans will have the strongest argument to voters to change horses. While anything can happen between now and the 2022 Midterm election, including geopolitical events, the economy could double-dip in recession, once the initial euphoria over all the artificial stimulus wears off. Coming out of recession doesn’t mean that the same economic conditions that led to the pre-pandemic recession don’t still exist. Past presidents like Bush don’t have a pulse on the direction of the economy or the future of the Republican Party.
