Euphoric over 74-year-old President Donald Trump’s historic defeat, 80-year-old House Speaker Nancy Pelosi already announced she wants another run as House Speaker. Pelosi said the House did great, after losing six-to-15 seats, depending on how remaining votes turn out. Pelosi forecasted before the Nov. 3 election that Democrats would add 10-15 seats to their 232-seat majority, showing that Pelosi under-performed, despite saying all was good. Whatever the final count, Democrats still control the House, despite the GOP making inroads. Pelosi asked House Democrats to bring her back as House Speaker, despite the losses and obvious dissatisfaction with her leadership. With Biden all but certain to become the next president, there was no “blue wave” as predicted, only losses in the House. Looks like Democrats picked up at least two seats in the Senate, with two Georgia Senate seats awaiting run-offs.
Pelosi did everything possible to make Trump’s life miserable over the last four years, launching baseless investigations, weaponizing her Article 1 power to concoct phony impeachment charges over a July 25, 2019 phone call with 42-year-old Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Before Pelosi settled on impeaching Trump on the Zelinsky call, she spent two years framing Trump with salacious allegations of Russian collusion. Pelosi and her chief lieutenants, House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and House Judiciary Chairman Jerold Nadler (D-N.Y.), harassed Trump for over three years during the Robert Mueller Special Counsel investigation. When Mueller’s March 23, 2019 Final Report essentially cleared Trump and his campaign of Russian collusion, Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler looked under every rock to find another excuse to impeach Trump.
So Pelosi’s colossal waste of her Article 1 time was spent over the last four years fighting Trump aon virtually everything, including his border wall, Mideast peace, the economy, health care, climate change, immigration, everything else. So, when voters think of Pelosi it’s about her mugging in front of camera to grandstand against Trump. With Biden coming in as president, he’ll want Pelosi in charge in case the GOP Senate opens up any investigations into his business dealings with his son Hunter and brother Jim in China, Russia and Ukraine. When Biden appoints his own Attorney General, it’s going to be difficult to get any traction on any corruption investigation. Democrats saved all their corruption investigations for Trump, now enjoying a mainstream press equally giddy over getting rid of Trump. Trump will try to fight back claiming fraud but unless there’s compelling proof, Trump will be moving out.
Pelosi’s among the most partisan Democrat politicians, willing to do and say anything to protect Democrats and persecute Republicans. Biden’s business dealings with the son and brother, especially in China, while an acting Vice President, should have disqualified him from running for president. But Pelosi was so determined to defeat Trump, by hook-or-by-crook, she advanced no other legislation, other than an inflated stimulus bill rejected as too extravagant by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Senate Republicans. Now that Trump’s on his way out, Pelosi will have less leverage with McConnell, especially if he retains the Senate, something not known until Jan. 2022. When you look at losses with House Democrats, it’s directly related to Pelosi’s leadership, antagonizing voters watching her over the last four years put her vendetta with Trump over her job.
Pelosi will no doubt have clout with Biden getting another stint as House Speaker. Beating Trump was once considered unthinkable by Democrats, considering Trump delivered on many of his campaign promises. But Democrats upended Trump using the anti-Trump media to tar-and-feather him with the Covid-19 crisis, something so preposterous it shows the lows to which Democrats go to discredit the president. No one in the history of presidential politics had worst press than Trump. Everything he did or said would be demonized by Democrats and their friends in the press. Under Trump the American public watched the U.S. press morph into a propaganda wing to the Democrat Party. No Republican can possibly trust the integrity of the vote when the media conspired with the Democrat Party for four years accusing Trump of being a Russian asset.
Whatever happens with the election, and it sure looks like it’s heading to Biden, Republicans cannot trust Democrats to do anything but lie about Trump and the election. How can Republicans believe anything Democrat election officials do, when the Party spent four years fabricating excuses to remove Trump from office. When Trump had a comfortable lead Nov. 3, a dramatic shift took place, as if Democrat Plan B started, feeding ballots to election officials in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia, Arizona and Nevada, all showing Trump with strong leads. Then, all of a sudden, things reversed themselves, with Biden picking up ground then eventually surpassing Trump. If Democrats were anything like their colleagues led by Pelosi, they’d do anything, including commit fraud, to get Trump out office. Now Trump finds himself behind the Eight-Ball, trying to prove his case for election fraud.
