With the Nov. 3 presidential election one day away, 80-year-old National Institutes of Health [NIH] Chief of Allergy and Infectious Disease Dr. Anthony Fauci continues to ridicule the White House response to the virus. Fauci told the anti-Trump Washinton Post yesterday that he doesn’t go the West Wing any longer because it’s not safe from Covid-19. Fauci say he avoids the White House, but, truth be told, the White House avoids him because he turned into a Democrat partisan hack. Fauci’s been giving anti-White House interviews to the broadcast and print media, expressing his displeasure when 74-year-old President Donald Trump replaced him Aug. 31 with Stanford University Hoover Institution scholar Dr. Scott Atlas. Fauci has practically accused Atlas of malpractice for not following his guidelines for Covid-19, recently saying that more lockdowns were in the cards.
Once Atlas was introduced on the Coronaviurs Task force Aug. 31, Fauci had gone rogue criticizing the White House Covid-19 policy. What Fauci wants are more lockdowns, something Trump has ruled out, considering the damage to the U.S. economy caused by shutdowns in March and April, plunging the nation into recession after hitting a 50-year unemployment low of 3.5%. Folllowing Fauci’s advice, Trump watched the economy tank, spiraling the unemployment rate to over 12%. So much for fallowing medical advice when it comes to the economy. Called by the anti-Trump press, “the nation’s leading expert on infectious disease,” Fauci is really an old bureaucrat, far past his prime when it comes to his profession. Democrats and the press like Fauci because he attacks President Trump. Fauci admitted to the Post that he hasn’t seen Trump since early October.
Fauci likes to chime into the Coronavirus Task Force meetings via Zoom Conferncing, largely because he’s not wanted much at the White House for spending his time criticizing the president in numerous broadcast and print interviews. Fauci acts clueless about feeding the media’s anti-Trump feeding frenzy, heading up to the 2020 presidential election. Democrats and media have made Covd-19 their primary campaign issue, slamming Trump for not waving a magic wand and telling the virus to go away. Fauci’s been a one-trick pony, becoming the nation’s leading geriatric cheerleader for masks, social distancing and hand-washing. Other than that, Fauci has nothing constructive to add to mitigation efforts, other than urging the president to shut down the economy for the second time. Because Trump has signaled he’s not going to do that, Fauci decided to go rogue with the media.
Trump’s new Coronavirus Task Force adviser Dr. Scott Atlas was brought in to inject some common sense mirroring more of Trump’s thinking. Trump knows that more lockdowns are not possible, given the economy’s fragile state. If Fauci got his way or if Biden becomes president, more lockdowns are entirely possible, something that would trigger a major Walls Street correction. However long the Covid-19 crisis lasts, Fauci can’t fix the problem with more shutdowns. Former Vice President Joe Biden has no plan other that telling people to wear masks, something that hasn’t stopped the second wave from hitting certain states. Pitting Fauci against Trump was a clever campaign strategy that seems to have paid off if you believe the polls. But anyone honest knows that Biden has no answer to the Covid-19 crisis, anymore that Fauci who talks about more lockdowns.
Democrats and the press keep bringing up the Oct. 5 Rose Garden ceremony announcing 48-year-old Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court. “I think the data speaks for themselves,” Fauci said. “We had a super-spreader event in the White House and it was in a situation where people were crowded together and were not wearing masks,” blaming Trump for spreading the virus. Fauci’s been a godsend for Biden who’s revolved his whole campaign around the Covid-19 epidemic. But realistically, Biden has no plan to other than maybe a national mask mandate. “We’re in for a whole lot of hurt. It’s not a good situation,” Fauci told the Washington Post. “All the stars are aligned in the wrong place as you go into the fall and winter season with people congregating at home indoors. You could not possibly be positioned more poorly,” revealing Fauci’s political tactic to help Biden.
Other than telling people to wear masks, socially distance and wash hands, what’s Fauci advised in the eight-month old crisis? According to Dr. Scott Atlas more lockdowns won’t change the course of the Covid-19 crisis, other than tanking the U.S. economy. Fauci worries about the fall and winter, what about driving more people into unemployment, insolvency and homelessness? Infectious disease events take time, regardless of all the deaths and misery. Shutting down the economy is no answer for any country unless the government’s prepared to bankroll the entire U.S. economy. Given the record levels of national debt and record federal budget deficits, the country can’t afford to let the country lapse into a Great Depression. Fauci wouldn’t know that because it’s beyond his government pay-grade. Letting aged government bureaucrats call the shots come with dire consequences.
