Democrats’ final arguments today confirmed that they believe they can rewrite the U.S. Constitution to impeach 73-year-old President Donald Trump. Impeachment managers, led by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), insisted they “proved their case” against Trump. But impeachment managers wouldn’t acknowledge that they didn’t prove an impeachment case, only lowering the bar for future impeachments.. Impeachment managers proved that the Democrat-controlled House could make up any rationale to impeac Trump, misinterpreting their Article 1 mandate to follow the Constitution.. Nowhere does Article 1 give the House the authority change the Constitution to make up anything they wish to impeach a sitting president. Charging Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress proves that Democrats had no case at all.
Speaking for House impeachment managers, 72-year-old Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) pleaded with Republican Senators to toss Trump from office. “The facts are clear, and so is the U.S. Constitution,” Lofgren said. “The only question is what you, the Senate, will do,” telling impartial Senate jurors to adopt the same bias toward Trump as House managers. Impeachment managers pretend they’re impartial when they conducted 12 weeks of impeachment hearings, cherry-picking witnesses to denounce Trump, not allowing Trump’s attorneys to cross-examine witnesses. Impeachment managers insisted in their final arguments that Trump interfered with the 2020 election trying to get information from 40-year-old Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. But impeachment managers didn’t prove that Trump was not inquiring about corruption as opposed to harming former Vice President Joe Biden.
All indications from the facts show that Trump was more interested in how Joe’s 50-year-old son Hunter obtained an $83,000 a month job on Ukraine’s Burisma Holdings’ board. Interviewed yesterday in Iowa one day before the Caucus, Joe got testy Feb. 2 when asked by NBC’s Smantha Guthrie about Hunter’s job on Burisma’s board. Guthire asked Joe if it was wrong for Hunter to work for Burisma because the company wanted access to you. “That’s not true. You’re saying things that you do not know what you’re talking about. No one has said that—who said that?” Joe said. When House managers call Hunter’s role in the impeachment proceeding bogus, they’re not being honest. Even Hunter, himself, admitted Oct. 2, 2019 to ABC’s “Good Morning America” host Amy Rorbach that its probably wasn’t the best “judgment” to take the job. Hunter also said without his Dad, he wouldn’t have gotten the job.
House managers have no interest in telling the truth about their impeachment case against Trump. They only have an interest in politically trashing Trump regardless of the facts. After the trial ends in acquittal Wednesday, Feb. 5, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) plans to call the so-called “whistleblower” before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Graham, who was told by Joe’s wife, Jill, that he’s no longer a friend of the Bidens. House managers and Democrats are fooling themselves thinking that Hunter Biden would not be a future campaign issue. Some Republicans would like to raise articles of impeachment against Joe if he wins the presidency. At the very least, shutting down an NBC reporter won’t be the last word on Hunter. Any common sense explanation knows that Joe was careless getting Hunter a lucrative board position in Ukraine while he was responsible for corruption.
Republicans believe that Democrats, not Trump; were trying to interfere with the 2020 elections by holding impeachment proceedings, knowing they’ll end in failure. If Joe and Hunter Biden crossed the line to join in Ukrainian corruption, then it’s fair game in any presidential race. Democrats can’t have it both ways: Saying, on the one hand, they want a full investigation of Trump, while, also saying they want to know nothing about Hunter’s lucrative job in Ukraine. Democrats pretend that Joe did nothing wrong while VP, getting his son a lucrative job on a corrupt Ukrainian Board. He told Guthrie that Hunter got the job because he was “smart,” dismissing all logic that Hunter go the job because of him. Yet Democrats accuse Trump of spawning conspiracy theories about the Bidens. There’s only on logical explanation for Hunter’s work on Burisma’s board: Joe set it up.
Schiff and other House managers admonished Senate Republicans for not buying the Democrats’ case against Trump. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) raised the ghost of Sen. John McCain (R-Az.) as a true patriot. Jeffries pleaded with Senate Republicans to buy the Democrat’ case and oust Trump from office. Jeffries mirrors the kind of hyper-partisanship that drove Democrats impeachment case against Trump. None of the House managers could explain why not one Republican joined their impeachment effort against Trump. During Nixon’s Watergate case, several Republicans joined House impeachment managers in backing efforts to get rid of Nixon. Schiff insults Senate Repuiblicans urging them in the strongest possible way to vote to convict Trump. Schiff and other House managers don’t accept the fact that their impeachment case against Trump didn’t prove he committed an impeachable offense.
